GTA IV Keeps Impressing Us - iCEnhancer 2.5 Beta 1 Screenshots

DSOGaming writes: "Hayssam Keilany has released some impressive new screenshots from the latest version of his iCEnhancer mod for GTA IV. This version of iCEnhancer has not been released yet, and Keilany is still working to get the game look the way he wants. GTA IV has never looked better before, and we are curious to see what such mods will turn GTA V into (well, provided Rockstar releases it on the PC). Enjoy!"

Man I wish I knew how to install this without messing up my computer and getting a virus -because that mod looks amazing...

-I would play this right now all the way up to the release of GTA V-

All you have to do is download icenhancer and then drag all the files into the gta iv folder

Crazyglues1098d ago (Edited 1098d ago )

@Lior

Really it's that easy

-I thought it was like a process of getting all these little files and then adding them one by one... wow if it's that easy then I'm ready to install now...

Let me go work on this... thanks Lior

There's a little more to it if you want all the features... even more so if your using the steam version of GTAIV.

But essentially drag and drop for the most part with all mods.

Scenarist1097d ago

well the OP has the right idea,
Iceenhancer doesnt contain any modded cars or textures and if you want the full experience , I guess at this stage in the game , you can download a car mod packs and texture packs opposed to individually.

Your comment made me lol so hard. So much fail.

hennessey861098d ago

And it runs like shit on my PC, I have given up trying to get it to run smoothly.

FragMnTagM1098d ago

Well if you have shitty graphics card, it will run shitty.

My GTX 560ti could run it alright, it was the Video RAM that killed me as it was only 1 gig.

I just got a gtx 660ti with 3g of VRAM and I can run it maxed no problems.

SilentNegotiator1097d ago

Your $200 GPU could run it "alright"? Congrats.

GTA4 isn't optimized very well on PC, don't go and blame hardware.

coolmast3r1098d ago

Honestly, this looks way better than vanilla V (judging from the trailers).

sourav931097d ago

Imagine V with mods though... *Mind Blown*

Dee_911097d ago (Edited 1097d ago )

gotta disagree.Put your hands over the cars it will look like gta iv with color and brightness adjustments. The main place you will notice a real difference with icenhancer is in the reflections.Your letting these high poly cars fool you.

GTA IV

GTA V

the Lighting & shadows are way better on gta v imo.
Those are things you cant really change with enhancer mods on GTA IV.You can enhance but you cant completely overhaul.

cyguration1097d ago

They're running on the same engine.

GTA V is just better optimized and they've been showing everyone footage from a PC devkit for the consoles.

And yes, GTA IV IcEnhancer looks way better than vanilla GTA V.

The shadows are actually blockier in GTA V compared to iCEnhancer, and the lighting in iCEnhancer has almost reached ray-tracing quality:

I'm sorry but vanilla GTA V does not look anywhere near that good.

WUTCHUGUNNADO1097d ago

Ambient occlusion and skylighting are a little more in depth than "Brightness adjustments" both of which GTA V won't be able to do on current gen consoles.

Dee_911097d ago (Edited 1097d ago )

I never said that its just brightness and color adjustments.I said it LOOKS like it, rather its rendering ambient occlusion or a simulated ray tracing, to me it still looks like brightness, contrast and color adjustments.Like I said its just an enhanced GTAIV but to me I can see glaring differences between gta iv engine and the updated engine in GTAV.
@cyguration Wow i never seen that video. The last version I saw the lighting was blindingly bright and the shadows where way too dark. But after that I must say I stand corrected. It looks better than everything I seen from gtav so far.The screenshots in the article doesnt do it justice.Because looking at those I can achieve that look ( aside from reflections) by just adjusting brightness etc. in photoshop.

You should never slap Jesus.
Especially when I am so damn happy.
