Blaster Master Overdrive (wii) and Outland (psn/live) are two more great entries in this genre

And if you up for it La Mulana (wii) is a beast!

Wait... Is Outland free-roam? I really don't know; I've never played the game but it would be awesome to know because it looks really fun.

Yeah Outland is free roam.
You just need certain ability's to get to certain places like Metroid games.
It's a great game and worth getting, one of the best games ubisoft have ever released in my opinion.

Reverent1195d ago

That's awesome. I'll definitely be downloading it then.

I gotta get gucamele for vita soon. Shadow complex is one of my favorite games this gen, its awesome. I wish they would make a shadow complex 2 already.

I've been playing Guacamelee! non-stop this week. It's my new favorite PSN game. I'll have the platinum pretty soon, then I'll start playing Knytt Underground next. Outland is another one of my favorite PSN games. I bought a physical copy of Tomba on Amazon recently, very awesome. I guess I've sorta been on a Metroidvania kick lately. Been playing a bit of Metroid Prime and Castlevania: SotN too.

MegaMan ZX and ZX Advent for DS are both Metroidvania style. ZX Advent being the better of the two.

Was surprised not to see these and Outland on the list.
