Square Enix officially begins Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn’s story, asks for testers

Square Enix has announced that today will be the “scheduled grand finale” for the MMO FINAL FANTASY XIV. The company is seeking testers for the start of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Today marks the conclusion of the title ‘FINAL FANTASY XIV’ and its current story and the beginning of ‘A Realm Reborn’. Square Enix has also stated that all character data from the current version “will be saved for the last time on October 31, 2012, followed by all Worlds coming down at midnight, November 11, 2012″ (Pacific Standard Time). Square Enix also stated that saved character data “will be transferred to A Realm Reborn”. (Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, PC, PS3)
