Aliens: Colonial Marines 75% off on Steam

Aliens: Colonial Marines is 75% off on the Steam store this weekend. It will set you back $4.99.

All of the DLC is still the regular price, but for a full game the discount should be worth the price of admission. You may be able to overlook the general poor reception of the game as well with the offer that is in place.

that's still about 4.99 too much.

I was tempted to buy a copy at that price. I didn't though. Maybe when it drops to a pound.

If the devs can't respect the franchise, why should I?

MizTv3899d ago

I played it and it sucked
But not as bad as everyone says
$4.99 us a good deal
Get it

mattdillahunty3899d ago

you flat out say it sucked, then you tell people to get it? if it did suck, then why should anyone spend a single penny on it? who wants to play a game that sucks? lol.

MizTv3899d ago

Because if you like aliens there is some fun stuff
The mp I thought was cool
I say a 6 out of 10

Xristo3899d ago (Edited 3899d ago )

Bought it off of GMG a month ago for 9.99 (7 and change after voucher) and it came with the Season Pass. It isn't THAT bad. Patches have helped it drastically, from what I've read. I wouldn't buy it alone for 4.99, though.

Xristo3899d ago (Edited 3899d ago )

Truth is, the disagrees are probably justified. I am not one who bought it on release and Gearbox showed their @ss with pre-rendered footage, claiming it was actual gameplay. Purchase knowing that about Gearbox and that the AI/story have issues. I took a chance with purchasing everything for $7(ish), so I don't have TOO many regrets as the patches have made it better (a lot say). Like I said, it isn't THAT bad, but it does not do the Alien franchise much justice either. Shame on Gearbox for their antics but I will not hold grudges after one burn, life is too short.

Der_Kommandant3899d ago (Edited 3899d ago )

Not even if it was 95% off

Soldierone3899d ago

Just make it free, and see how many people actually download it. I wouldn't even bother to download it after I played it lol

Also hold out. I found Duke Nukem Forever pretty much free by Black Friday when it came out.

Xristo3899d ago

Yah, I think I got Duke for a dollar around that time.

Should have happened a long time ago. People wanting refunds after 50 hours in game.

fsfsxii7d ago

Pc gamers will take this as an excuse to pirate things

KyRo7d ago

I'm not sure why you're getting disgrees. Whilst not all PC gamers are petty, an awful lot of them are lol

Crows907d ago

Entirely untrue. Not any more petty than console gamers. The only large difference is console gamers don't have much of a choice.

Michiel19896d ago

Not sure why you're getting agrees. an awful lot of console gamers are overemotional twinks ready to go to war over a plastic box, I'll take being a pc gamer then.

Speaking about overgeneralizing much.

Nooderus6d ago

"X" type of gamer conversations are cringe

qalpha7d ago

Daily reminder that 'TheGamer' is a corporate-generated, anti-gamer, anti-consumer, clickbait web site. They are mostly A.I. generated articles that villainize gamers. They provide nothing positive and actively try to provoke and divide the community through extreme view points and politics. Do not give them any clicks.

Inverno7d ago

Only scumbags? As if people don't play their games on console put in the most amount of hours and return it to GameStop and trade it in for another game. But also how many people are actually do this? And what games have been allowed to be refunded?

DustMan7d ago

You can refund any game you've purchased as long as it hasn't been longer than two weeks, and you've played less than 2 hours. I wish they would change it to 3 hours because some RPG's have so much exposition that you may only get an hour total of complete gameplay. That's my only knock on it. I've refunded plenty of stuff I was just curious to try. I typically stay away from Early Access titles which are the only ones affected by this policy change.

Inverno6d ago

Apparently early access doesn't count, only complete games with a play early preorder bonus.

Gaming4Life19817d ago

I definitely know if I want a refund in 2 hours.

SegaSaturn6696d ago

I never liked refunding anything. Even if a film is bad, i dont want my money back. Sometimes things just aren't for me, and it's not the creator's fault necessarily.

Gaming4Life19816d ago

I feel you and i have never walked out on a bad movie cause I payed my money. I also don't refund games cause I'm a gamer and I know what to buy lol. I think having a digital refund is great.

Why Are Steam's Recommendations Dogpoop?

Blindfolding myself and clicking a Steam page at random would serve me better recommendations than Steam’s algorithm

Hmm, not sure I agree with that. The recommendations I get are usually pretty good, but then again I have pretty large library of games on Steam and hundreds of them in my wish list, along with lots of curators I follow for it to build recommendations off of. On occasion it will throw me a random FIFA game or something I've never bought or shown interest in, but mostly its decent IMO.
