The conference was very boring. After showing the system, they should have went straight into specs, and then into games (even if it was just Forza and Remedy's project to show). Microsoft dropped the ball, and Sony just picked it up and threw it at Microsofts face with PS4. Microsoft are finished when it comes to gaming.

They're trying to tap the Apple TV market, which is a stupid strategy. Heck, deep down even they know it... why would they otherwise pay group of people to deliberately cheer and applaud during every single feature announcement. That thing was so obvious i kinda felt sorry for Microsoft.

they showed the console which was nice but the rest of the conference didn't have anything that made me excited as a gamer. the TV stuff was kinda cool but i'm looking for a games console i haven't watched live TV in like a year with the exception of some football matches (or soccer if you are american i have absolutely no interest in nfl). they didn't show any gameplay footage and the only games that were featured were EA,COD and forza oh and a trailer for quantum break (they didn't explain what type of game it was). the conference was pretty bad but they really shot them selves in the foot when they said kinect connection will be required for xbox to function and that every game you buy can only be linked to one account (your brother won't be able to use it for example even if it was on the same console) and has to be installed into a 500GB hard-drive which isn't big enough that can only hold a few bluray sized games. they didn't give specific specs, they didn't say if the hard-drive was changeable infact there was so much wrong with this conference its insane. even worse still there were hints that the current xbox live subscription system will continue. i just don't get it they are making a halo tv series which would require crazy amounts of money to make when they could have spent it making an actual game that you can play

They better have some amazing games at E3, and a lower price, because if they come in at the same price I think most will choose PS4. Honestly it seems with MS being 6 months behind in game production, that they are trying to get to market as soon as possible. The lack of focus on games, the over showing of what is a secondary feature, and the complete glossing over of the actual hardware leads me to believe that MS was wholly unprepared for Sony to announce or launch this year.

Oddly enough, some of the media features MS showed are available on the Wii U. I'm not sure how well they work, or if they're as robust...you know...because I use my console to play games and all...but still Nintendo is about games more than anything else.

I really don't understand why they are trying so hard with this TV media box thing. Most people I know have at least some devices that provide the same functionality. I already have two Tivo's and a brand new Smart TV so while the Xbox One has some cool functionality it's no incentive for me to buy one.
I was waiting to see something that would really enhance the gaming experience beyond what a PS4 and PC can do and I didn't see it.

Maybe Sony knew what Microsoft was making before their February 20th reveal. So they said, let's focus on games only, so when when Microsoft reveals its multimedia box, it will look like crap. Sony's probably throwing an office party right now.

I watched virtually the whole thing, and it left me with a "sorta-kinda" feeling. Like, I'm pleased, yet not pleased.

1.) The Box - It looks like a DVR-VCR hybrid. It looks nothing like a "console", more like a cable box. Yeah, all consoles look different, but they still have a certain *look* to them. The XBOX ONE looks like Microsoft made a cable box and slapped the XBOX logo on it.

2.) The Controller - Virtually the same as the 360 controller. Layout is exactly the same, and the design is near identical. They added in IR signal capabilities (woo-hoo?) and it seems like they improved the d-pad (FINALLY!)

I guess they're taking the "don't fix what ain't broke" approach with the new controller, as it really isn't all that different from it's predecessor. I guess in a way it's lazy and un-imaginative. But then again, it's not like the 360 controller is bad.

3.) Kinect - In 2010; I was going to buy my first new home console. It was between the Wii and the 360. I had seen a ton of commercials for the Kinect, which got me interested. As for the Wii, I had some experience with it and was pleased. In the end, I got a Wii. Why? I went to Best Buy and tried out the Kinect first hand. I hated it instantly. Almost completely unresponsive. Sluggish and frustrating. The only Kinect games I can really say ever *worked* for me, has to be Dance Central 3 and Kinect Adventures.

With this new Kinect, which is now no longer an *optional-accessory*, it seems like Microsoft (hopefully) improved it. Like I said - hopefully. Judging by the bitter taste that "Kinect 1" left me with; I'm not prepared to take to "Kinect ONE" (yes, you read that right) so easily. But we'll see.

4.) Overall System ~ Microsoft kept mentioning "games" throughout the conference; but they seemed to be more focused on how this device improves your T.V, Movie, Web and Social experiences; not really much the whole gaming side. This doesn't come off to me as "game console", more like an entertainment center. Is that bad? Not exactly. But it's like they're too heavily focused on everything BUT games. 3 operating systems - good. 8GB of ram - good. But how will my gaming experience be? That's what I'm worried about.

Sony's PS4 reveal wasn't all that great! for one, all of the games were running on a pc unit and not the actual gaming system. Secondly, any of us has no idea what the ps4 looks like. and finally, this was a console reveal and not a games showcase.

Microsoft actually showed a game running on its hardware. At least we all know what the xbox1 looks like and how it will perform on xboxlive. judge xbox1 and microsoft after e3, at which point your argument has merrit

PS4 probably the best reveal of any console ever. They showed trailers, tech demos, live demos and the 2 most important parts: 1. PS4 is no cable-box wanna be and 2. Cerny talked about the specs and technicality behind the PS4 and treated gamers with respect. PS4 will cost the same as that piece of excrement called Xbox Done and with almost twice the specs.

xbox one performances are similar to those of the ps 4. they're like 2 mainstream PCs and nothing more. the differences now lie in ambitions. this conference was a flop but i think that xbox one deserves hope... waiting for e3

Hey to all the hates of the press conference chill. First PlayStation rolls out all it's big guns at their reveal, the whole reveal was about the games, the game play, the release date, the specs, so what is it gonna reveal at E3??? How it looks????? Wow exciting, basically their E3 press conference is gonna be exact same as their reveal. As for Xbox, they kind did a over view of everything the system can do, but at their E3 press conference what do they have to reveal, lets see their release lineup, when it comes out, price, game play of the games, how much it costs, and the specs of the system. Wow I think that is a pretty good balance don't you think. So tell me what are you more excited about at E3? To see what the PS4 looks like, and the same game play and games they revealed in February, or Xbox's launch lineup, game play of games, specs, price, release date, hmmmmmmmmm that's a tough one. Y'all need to study marketing. Now all you guys will talk how disappointing you were at this press conference and then when E3 comes, all you guys will retreat on what you said, and praise it. Chill out.

The new user interface is pretty awesome, but I do wish they would have shown more games that were in development. Who is to say that their games will be playable at E3 or not. If not, then MS should have shown some of what they have so far, but if they will be playable at E3 then I do not think it was a bad idea to not show more games in development.

They mention before the conference that it would be mostly be about the console and not so much about games. I'm still waiting on E3 before I start hating. At least they showed the console off even though it does look big and bulky. I really hope the large size is because the psu is built in. I don't want another brick size psu.
