I wonder would they have to delay the game to fix that?

Cacabunga36d ago

This would have happened many years ago.. nowadays devs are allowed to release games not finished

Rynxie36d ago

Don't worry, it will also suffer from being a crappy game. People who bought it will also suffer for being thirsty for waifus.

shammgod36d ago

Demo was great. I immediately preordered digital deluxe and a physical copy. Cant wait!

SCW198236d ago

This is the Lies of P of 2024, nothing about this will be a crappy game. It plays awesome.

ravens5235d ago

If you use the word "waifu", your probably one of the people your talking about lol.

CrimsonWing6935d ago (Edited 35d ago )

What do you have against attractive female designs? Does it hurt your feelings about who you’re in a relationship with?

Like, I’ll never understand how an ugly female portrayal nobody mentions “Waifu,” but when it’s something attractive it’s like such a problem for them.

You’d think ugly female portrayals would be more offensive, but nope. Nobody bats an eye. Suddenly, it’s an attractive design and you have Waifu this and Waifu that like it’s some terrible thing.

People are weird as f*ck. Like the only “controversy” behind this game is they made an attractive female and for some reason we have Cardi B singing WAP on stage in more revealing clothes simulating sexual acts on stage, but that’s ok and brave! We have celebrities on the red carpet exposing their butt cheeks and nipples and it’s such an amazing designed dress. You have a game character that’s attractive and suddenly everyone’s a f*cking Waifu loser for appreciating it… this world needs to give me a break with this sh*t.

I miss the good ol’ days when nobody made a stink about any of this. The only reason I can see someone getting offended by this is due to low self-esteem or you’re a prude, otherwise who cares?

Charlieboy33335d ago (Edited 35d ago )

@ Rynxie As opposed to you who walks around with a Baywatch babe on each arm right? You are drowning in hot ladies over there.....your thirst is quenched!

Not!!!!

Charlieboy33335d ago (Edited 35d ago )

@ Crimson "I miss the good ol’ days when nobody made a stink about any of this" Yeah, it all started to go downhill in this world when they gave the mental patients a voice and people ( just as mental ) actually took note of there opinions.

Might as well ask a serial killer what he thinks about human rights. Or ask a cannibal his stance on veganism. Yet here we are......literally having to deal with the warped and hypocritical
opinions of a small group of crazies with the sane people worried they will offend them ( not me, they can all fuck off ).

Waifus? This is a Korean game. Also the demo was good.

Delayed keyboard and mouse input on the dev's workstations.

GoodGuy0936d ago

Ouch, for a game where it's high action and timing is key.

BLow35d ago

How was the demo? Did you play it?

Pyrofire9535d ago

It's pretty cool. The way the game teaches you new abilities is spaced out nicely so it's not all thrown at you at once and meanwhile you're getting all this cool setup for the story and setting. I do notice how long it takes for an attack to start after you hit the button and hope that's fixed. Movement does feel a little stiff and that might be because of the delay as well. Aside from that it looks like it'll be a fun game and a bit more of a Souls-like than I thought it'd be but I like those so that's fine by me.

ravens5235d ago

I had zero problems with the demo on my portal. She doesn't cancel out of a move to block and it takes a sec to get into blocking stance. I thought thats the way it was designed but maybe not.

VariantAEC34d ago

I didn't feel any lag. I did feel like High-Fi Rush was lagging but only when the circle appeared on screen and then it became obvious that something wasn't right. Level 2 has a on rails segment that requires pressing "X" at a specific time so Chai pulls up away from a red crate... no matter what the "X" button did not do anything at that specific point. I just had to dodge every other crate and get hit by all the red crates. Of course you can not adjust the latency in the options menu except from the title menu... go figure. I was about to readjust it before I managed to avoid all the non-red crates. Plenty of other segments where the circles appear and when they overlap my input registers just fine. I didn't notice any latency issues with the Stellar Blade Demo.

Barlos36d ago

Didn't notice any lag at all in the demo

Babadook736d ago (Edited 36d ago )

Me neither. I was pretty impressed with the gameplay. But if it is there and gets fixed that would be even better.

36d ago
dumahim36d ago

Yeah, even with HDR and visual mode, it seemed fine. Maybe the timing window gets smaller later in the game or something. What I played seemed plenty of time to react for me, even without game mode on.

CobraKai35d ago

I had no clue either. I’m not playing on game mode on my TV and didn’t notice

Einhander197236d ago

"Stellar Blade Suffers From High Input Lag"

This is factually untrue, the developer was telling them exactly what the problem was which was the setting on their TV presumably.

Anyone can play the demo themselves and see that this is not true.

36d ago
bloop36d ago

I have an LG CX with game mode turned on and noticed considerable lag. It took me about half an hour of playing to adjust to it. I wouldn't say it's game breaking, but it should be a lot better and hopefully they can get that response time down with a few patches.

bloop35d ago

Eh......... Sure Einhander 🤨🤷🏼‍♂️ What a bizarre response. I'm not really sure how that correlates to what I said there, but anyway. I died once on my playthrough fighting the boss on top of the parking lot, and for the record, I thought the demo was fantastic and I hope it does great numbers sales wise. I did experience noticeable input lag though, which I'm sure the devs could improve on, but you just go ahead and stick your fingers in your ears there 🤨

Huey_My_D_Long35d ago

I would just ignore children like Einhander. Unfortunately responses like his are just way too common nowadays

Babadook735d ago (Edited 35d ago )

I played the demo again just to test for myself. I have a C9 with game mode on and filmed the response time in slow mo. The claim in the article seems legit actually; I saw from 10 to 16 extra frames before a reaction to the attack button. I didn't notice it before hand, and it's not a big deal to me.

porkChop36d ago

The demo is an older build though. Just because the demo doesn't have input lag doesn't mean the final game doesn't either.

Einhander197235d ago

We're all playing the same demo, including the person who made the video...

Seriously what a ridiculous statement.

You're so determined to damage the sales of the game you imply that somehow an issue that doesn't exist in the demo is going to exist in the final product.. and you say it seriously...

I can't even believe the amount of misinformation that is constantly being spread, like here we have a developer saying it isn't true, Yet here you are essentially calling the developer a liar based on one no name persons claim on youtube. People have been playing the demo and no one was talking about this problem before the media started spreading this fake story, and anyone can play the demo themselves and see it's not true.

porkChop35d ago

I'm not trying to damage anything, calm the fuck down. I thought the actual game was out already because everyone has been talking about it. You're so determined to defend some game from randos on the internet that you'll go on some dumb tirade. It's not that serious. Go outside and breath some fresh air ffs.

Pyrofire9535d ago

I played the demo on my tv which has very low latency, I've played lots of games there, I know how it feels. There is 100% a pretty long time between you pressing a button and Eve performing an action.

--Onilink--35d ago

Claiming something is factually incorrect while providing 0 facts to the contrary…why am I not surprised by this kind of comment

Its literal testing and video recording on the topic…its hard not to call that anything BUT factual

Also, TVs without game mode (which you dont actually know if they had on or not), have about 90ms on latency, this was 240+ (plus a known UE issue that developers need to correct on their end).

Not everyone is affected by input lag (just look at how many people prefer to play at 30fps), but its a factual statement to report that the game has higher than average input lag. There is nothing wrong with calling out potential issues, especially before release, so they can then try to fix it sooner

Michiel198935d ago

fps has nothing to do with input lag.

--Onilink--34d ago (Edited 34d ago )

@Michiel

Yes it does… its literally linked to the render time.

A lower FPS means higher frametime, 33ms at 30fps (in avg of course)

If someone is measuring click to photon latency of 100ms at 30fps, then you know 33ms of those 100 are directly tied to the render time and then work out where the other 67 are from.

If you measure those same 100ms at 120fps, then its only 6ms of render time and you have 90+ ms on latency to account for from other sources

Knowing the average FPS is essential to discussing input latency because each Performance mode would already have an inherent amount of latency involved just by its render time

+ Show (2) more repliesLast reply 34d ago
TreMillz36d ago

The game doesn't suffer input lag at all lol, also the dev told them why they were experiencing it, not a fix for it.

Pyrofire9535d ago

It does have a long delay between a button press and action starting on screen. I don't know why people are trying to gaslight the situation, I experienced it first hand. I know what kind of delay my TV has and I know how to use Gamemode. It's not even a subtle delay, I would guess nearly 150-200ms which is sluggish, especially in a soul-like or, what SB has been compared most to, Nier Automata. Nier is responsive AF.

Hugodastrevas2h ago

As far as I know all of them have it. Just don't update, stay offline.

Barlos7h ago

Seems a lot of effort to see a bit of digital flesh.

Hugodastrevas2h ago

In an ideal world such gymnastics wouldn't be necessary to play the uncensored version of a 18+ game, but unfortunately this is not an ideal world.
The digital version doesn't even have this option

CobraKai1h ago

In the 90s, these wouldn’t even be an issue. There would probably be even more of them to unlock

CrimsonWing696h ago

Look, can they not just reverse the damn changes? How’s their “internal” discussions going?

MrBaskerville6h ago

What if they themselves wanted to make the changes?

CrimsonWing695h ago(Edited 5h ago)

What if they themselves didn’t and were forced to make the changes?

And let’s think about this, if you’re in the business of making a product for consumers and NOT yourself, wouldn’t it make more sense to try to lean more into what the consumer wants especially when you made it the way they wanted in the beginning? I know, right… crazy concept 🤷‍♂️

shinoff21832h ago

It's one outfit out of how many. Some of which are more revealing.

Redemption-643h ago

If anything, they should ignore all the crying man babies.

Director: This is the desig we intended

Man babies: Noooooooooooo, you are lying. Censorshiiiiiiip. Sony forced you to add 6 inches of lace, while leaving out far more revealing outfits. Yes, that must be it. You were forced to change it. Now we have justification to keep crying online

Pathetic. Sony/Shift up, should just stay quiet 🤫

CrimsonWing693h ago

I mean, we wouldn’t say that about the Helldivers 2 situation.

Look, I get that it’s not a big deal or worth anything to you. It’s easy to get ugly about it with each other because of differences in perspective and stances.

For me, if these were the outfits from the get-go and never altered to cover up more, I’d have been absolutely 100% fine. It’s the fact of the matter that bothers me, little or big.

Like I grew up where I’d watch movies on cable television censored for language, violence, nudity and whatever. When you haven’t seen the unedited version who cares right? When you have seen the unedited version and then watch a cable television edit of the movie… it irks me.

It’s no different here. What’s even more baffling is the fact they championed and made a campaign revolving around standing their ground and NOT censoring. The fact that they’re doing “internal” discussions goes to show there’s more to it than “this was our true FINAL design,” which was what to cover up parts in an outfit design to reveal what you covered up? Like you didn’t think this one through very well…

Here’s where we are. We have a disconnect set by what we prioritize in entertainment. We’re all man babies in here arguing over video game bullsh*t on a damn video game aggregate site, people who don’t prioritize or value games think we’re just as pathetic and a bunch of dorks for doing so.

My thing is I want my entertainment never to be censored. That’s not saying I want porn games. It could be language, violence, nudity, revealing outfits, whatever… I just don’t want to be shown one thing and then have it changed after the fact like some cable television edit because viewers might be offended. Plain and simple.

When it comes to something you’re invested in and it gets changed to appeal to someone else I’m not going to call you a man child when you whine and complain about it.

At the end of the day we’re all gamers and dorks playing video games and gushing about how cool fake characters and sh*t is in basically what is a toy. So, let’s not think we’re better than each other here. We’re all in the same boat.

Hugodastrevas2h ago

The designs they intended... Then why is the other design on the unpatched release?

SimpleDad1h ago

Censorship is bad in every form. What is wrong with you.

Redemption-6425m ago

@Hugodastrevas

You might not be smart enough to know this, but the game went gold weeks before the official release date, allowing for the game to be printed on physical disk. That is why the devs said, there will be a day 1 patch. Devs don't stop working on games when it goes gold, they keep working on it, then release the new updates with a day 1 patch. If the released digital only, this wouldn't be a problem with this much fake outrage over fake tits.

I am still waiting for you incels to explain why they never censored more revealing outfits? Did they miss those. Sony/Shift Up, let's censor this game, by adding 6 inches of lace, so these incels can't beat off to it, and leave the more revealing outfits. That is so high level censorship right there 👏.

Redemption-6423m ago

@SimpleDad

There was no censorship, just a dev updating their game with a day 1 patch to the intended design. Honestly speaking, this whole thing has been as entertaining to watch. I hope Sony/Shift up keeps ignoring these fools

MrDead5h ago(Edited 5h ago)

...why not just use the more revealing outfits if you want to see more?

Seeing the Stellar Blade reaction from some of the more sensitive parts of the internet has made me understand the term "turbovirgin". Lots of desperate crazies moaning about pixilated mesh covering cleavage in a game that's crammed full of tits and arse.

I'm sure they'll move on to something else when they're told to.

gigoran85h ago

Pretty sure the argument is about censorship and the studio bowing to peer pressure from a minority of clout chasing critics. But sure, you can stick with their antigamer turbovirgins explanation if you want.

MrDead5h ago(Edited 5h ago)

So why didn't they censor the more revealing outfits if this is censorship?

Hugodastrevas2h ago

@MrDead why not just give customers what they paid and keep their promise?
Insults aren't and argument and neither is appealing to triviality.

MrDead1h ago

"@MrDead why not just give customers what they paid and keep their promise?"

They added some cloth to cleavage, if this hurts you so much just play wearing the skin suit or the other outfits that have her boobs or cleavage on display.

"Insults aren't and argument"

Sorry if you are in that camp and if you feel insulted.

"appealing to triviality."

Much like these articles.

CrimsonWing691h ago(Edited 1h ago)

What are the “more revealing” outfits?

The censorship seems to follow a pattern of frontal breast exposure.

Censorship hasn’t made sense in the past. I think back at like something like Ocarina of Time where they change the blood from red to green… like make that make sense, it’s still blood 🤷‍♂️. There is a pattern with the Stellar stuff though.

MrDead1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

Blue Monsoon
Prototype Planet Diving Suit
Skin Suit
Black Pearl Nano Suit

That took about 3 seconds on google, there could be more but after seeing them I think the censorship argument is stupid... not to mention some of the NPC's in the game such as Shael.

CrimsonWing691h ago(Edited 1h ago)

Blue Monsoon is censored 🤷‍♂️ literally patch covered breast portion within gold ring and the ass part has been expanded to cover more… like why in the f*ck is this so hard to understand censorship in forms little or large?

https://youtu.be/AEx9PrsppM...

Prototype Planet Diving Suit = frontal covering

Skin Suit = has literally no exposure… it’s just skin colored toned…

Black Pearl Nano Suit = No breast exposure

See this is what I mean. People have NO clue what they’re talking about.

I explained the pattern. Go ahead and google the rest and let me know what you find. Should only take you 3 seconds 😜.

MrDead58m ago(Edited 49m ago)

Oh no a ring and a bit of cloth!..but you can still see everything you want in those outfits listed and they are more revealing than the bunny suit.

"Prototype Planet Diving Suit = frontal covering

Skin Suit = has literally no exposure… it’s just skin colored toned…

Black Pearl Nano Suit = No breast exposure"

All you're just arguing for now in that list is she isn't naked. Why are you so desperate to see more than the Skin Suit which if you want to view in google you need to turn safe search off? Google literally has to censor the image of the outfit.

https://static0.gamerantima... = not naked enough apparently.

CrimsonWing6931m ago(Edited 16m ago)

@MrDead

Are you familiar with the narcissist’s prayer?

So, now we won’t acknowledge that it’s censorship because it’s a little bit of censorship?

Oh let’s ignore the censorship pattern of covering the front of the exposed breasts in outfits because now it’s just “I want to see her naked.” 🙄

Great discussion. Let’s just ignore everything I explained about why it irks me and let’s incinuate desperation…

How about this since we’re this far, can you acknowledge that you’re seeing changes to “cover” shit up?

And yea, for the record a skin toned body suit isn’t nudity… maybe you need to turn off the safe search in Google to see the difference 🙄

MrDead0m ago

Yes it's censorship look how they hide cleavage https://i.ytimg.com/vi/j5D3...

It's censorship... but they just forgot to censor the most exposing outfits... almost like its a dev choice rather than censorship "Shift Up denies this---with the game’s director claiming that the costumes in the day-one patch are how the final versions were always intended to look"
