Completely agree. I have a paddles in my car and I hate it. It takes all of the fun out of a manual but I kind of understand for race cars the need for the quicker shifting.

A lot of people are mentioning the lack of a stick shift. Most modern sports cars have moved away from standard shifting (gearbox) and use flappy paddle gear boxes (notice the paddle behind the wheel).
A dual-clutch system allows for much faster shifting and the car never loses power. A dual-clutch system doesn't use a clutch pedal.
Of course a $500 graphics card will beat the One X. But in reality is it really just a graphics card you are upgrading? Let's say you have a decent system that is two or three years old with 8 GB of Ram. You will probably need to upgrade your ram and if you get ram of varying speeds the faster ram performs at the speed of the lowest in your system.
