The price increase is speculation, based on the fact the dev stated KSP was being sold at a discount while in Early Access. It's entirely possible the price will remain at the same level.
Yeah it's quite niche, but I reckon the lure of it being a Witcher game, along with the low price-point, will attract a lot of players who wouldn't normally look twice at a digital board game.
Also, it was developed by Can Explode, not CD Projekt, and the physical board game was designed by Ignacy Trzewiczek and published by Fantasy Flight Games, so I doubt that the development of the Adventure Game impacted much (or at all) on the progress CD Projekt Red made on Witc...
Author of the article here - it was originally developed for Dare to be Digital (student game dev contest) in a pretty short time, so doing Android and iOS versions simultaneously wouldn't have been feasible.
The members of Five Pixels are also all students (4/5 of them in their final year). When I interviewed them last year, they said iOS was in the works, but getting good degrees were their top priorities.
