It would require more than an OS to play 360 games on a PC. 360 games have their data burnt backwards compared to other discs. The 360 laser is able to read them but the drive in your computer won't be able to.
No one will know the truth on the resolutions until after the games come out. There may be data out there but a lot of times after release you find out that was not true/accurate and the games are just being upscaled.
As far as the no lead platform that is all PR hog wash. They also said that the PC version will never dip below 60 FPS. They are saying all the right things but I will not be surprised if these are all empty promises especially as we near their deadline an Ac...
DiCE loves calling out Call of Duty and they have an awesome opportunity to make CoD/Activision look really bad right now by announcing Battlefield Elite and making it a free service.
However, they are probably going to take a wait and see approach and see how it does. If it somehow manages to do well then EA/DiCE may come up with a similar paid service for Battlefield.
I hate it when websites spread an article across multiple pages. The games named in the article are:
Portal 2, Conduit 2, Mortal Kombat, SOCOM 4.
DICE: Less talking about single player and AI, more talking about multiplayer. I don't like where your collective mind is at right now. Shame on you.
I think all the games on this list save for braid are too violent for my lady. Minecraft was a big hit with my wife, so was portal. The motorstorm series has had the best success for racers.
"I think we may have been able to force May, but we think that would've introduced risks that would not have served gamers who have waited as long as we have to finally play Duke Nukem Forever."
Risks like competing against Brink and to a lesser degree FEAR 3 in May perhaps?
I agree completely. Just look at the number of people complaining about how OPed snipers are. Use a drone, spawn a vehicle or flank them and they are pretty defenseless.
Looks just as good as the single player for me on the PC. If your considering getting the game, and you should, gamers without a strong rig should consider going with the Onlive version if you have a good internet connection.
I thought the first hour or two of single player was awesome. Very emotional, after the stadium level though it felt like that went away. They had an opportunity to build on it when you return back to the insurgent base, but that scene ended up being really lackluster.
I have played some short matches and some long matches, I think it really depends on how even the teams are as well as the game type.
I like it when there are lots of snipers makes it that much easier to go on a kill streak when you flank them all from behind. If one of them catches me, my drone makes short work of him.
I have no problem with the ranking system it is a hell of a lot better than Killzone 2 was. I am at level 21 or so now, still have more to u...
Good article but the title is misleading. Also, it is too early to call Homefront a failure. Sales so far would say the game is a success and in my opinion it accomplishes what Kaos set out to do.
I understand where the developer is coming from but not building MP for Arkham City has resulted in this game being a very good rental for me.
I will not purchase a game without a multiplayer component as it will entertain me for a few weekends and then gather dust or be sold. I have not re-played a single player campaign since the 16-bit days.
That is my stance and my opinion, flame me if you wish.
FAIL
The game came out on March 15th. So that is 1.5 million sold in 2 weeks.
It is going to likely break sales records for THQ, already broke the pre-orders record for them.
I'm happy, all signs point to a sequel. I just hope they don't rush it and focus on refining what is there because it is great.
Wow the trolls are really out in abundance today!
#Fastball - This warlock checked Amazon and Walmart (online) and neither of them are selling the game for $40, new at least. It is $55 which might be cheaper than day 1/pre-orders but I remember they did the same thing with Gran Turismo 5, it dropped in price the day after release. My wife was pissed because she bought it for me.
Awesome game for fans of multiplayer FPSs. It isn't perfect but it is fun a...
When I first saw the title of the story I was prepared to come in here shoot the theory down but the article actually makes some good points.
I would just note that people aren't saying great things about the game outside the visuals.
I've been reading a lot of this especially from games that were featured at IGF. The big white elephant in the room is Minecraft, Alex should have just said that. People are just jealous of Minecraft and the success Notch has had.
Personally, I think it is a great idea for indie developers to do this. It creates a more personal connection to your target audience and people get excited when new features get added. Indie developers can do this because they generally are ...
The issue they are going to face is getting developers on board. The problem the developers are going to run into is that yea they can release a great looking game to the Android store which serves millions but what percentage of that is going to have this device or a device powerful enough to handle it?
That's the problem these app stores are facing is that there are device limitations. So while people want games to look like what is showed here, games like Angry Bird...
I'm a Flash Developer too and everything you said is true. However, Adobe has been working on a "Flash Lite" or Low Level Virtual Machine (LLVM) that COULD work on mobile devices such as the iPhone, iPod and iPad. Check out this article straight from Adobe: http://www.adobe.com/devnet... So Flash will be capable of running on these products, the problem has been that Apple is not working with ...
I wish I could report you for posting unrelated garbage. This isn't Disney, grow up.
