Game drought really? I just recently played Horizon: Forbidden West DLC, Final Fantasy XVI, Mortal Kombat 1, Baldur's Gate 3 and Lies of P so I'm not sure what your definition of drought is.

Cyberpunk and Elden Ring was released multiplat. Spider-man 2 was released in a single current gen console. 2.5m sales within 24 hours is insane to be honest.

Everytime I read articles that concerns Xbox Series S, the thing that infuriates me the most is that Devs have to spent another time to work on a solution to have there game on parity with the console. I mean can you imagine if that time was spent into other things? like additional quality check, improvement on settings, having the game release with no delay etc.

The thing that makes no sense at all is launching games in unfinished state. It's like we're sending message to the developers that it is okay to release their game on such state because we are expecting you will have it fixed later on. Hated the term "redemption arc" that they use now on articles or social medias.
