why you think it's renting? you own the game when you buy it, renting implies that you have to keep paying for it. Stadia base is free...sure it's not coming out at the same time as the pro 4k 60fps 10$ monthly thing, but base will be available for everyone, 1080p 60fps. all you do is buy the game, play it on base free.

this is in direct response to stadia. they have to partner to keep up. say what you will. streaming is going to happen..you can dislike it all you want, but this is the future. evolve or die.

so opinion: I think I know why people are talking about the death of single player games.
1. production time takes 3 - 5 years for the average single player AAA game to hit the market.
2. game companies run on the smallest development team they can, to maximize profit. due to most single player games not having an in-game monetization process. dlc notwithstanding

I'm actually quite impressed by the Switch, I mean of course it's not going to compete to the ps4, but it still handles the game rather well from what I can tell! nice port! switch is not gutless. not amazing, but not gutless

So yeah this is just the 2ds, and new3ds for the switch..a money sponge. ..which is the trend of consoles at this point. because console shelf lives are shrinking, due to not being able to keep up with the rapid increase of industry standards, but for nintendo, which doesn't care about keeping up with the tech. this just seems like more of a money grab than anything else.
