And this is why you have a wife.
My husband and I might enjoy games for different reasons, but it doesn't mean we can't enjoy the same games.
Can you explain how having an extra X chromosome means girls want to dance with Kinect?
I think I can speak for all women everywhere when I say we'd just prefer that games take both genders into account. You know, just like real life.
And I don't know what having a penis or a vagina has to do with whether or not you can have fun playing a game anyway.
What about the fourth option, where your wife plays Infamous or Heavy Rain? Dunno about your household but in mine, we all take turns watching or playing co-op...
I like both personally *shrugs*
I believe they should have had one that looked like default Shepard, maybe give her a little more polishing but that was it. I also wish they had one based on Jennifer Hale.
Way to begin an intelligent debate on behalf of the fans of this Shepard.
I had an opinion and I get paid to write.
The point of the entire article is how the world will perceive this FemShep and what that might mean for women. Whether BioWare likes it or not, this is an important step for women, especially for women who work in the games industry.
It doesn't matter that she is blonde, it matters that FemShep now has a stereotypical "standard of beauty" look even though she is not a stereotypical character, and the average person has certain connotations about stereotypes. It...
At first I thought this was an obvious troll article. Then I saw the name of the website.
I only bought the 3DS because I was finally ready to buy a DS (I don't have one) and I got it for Mother's Day. True story. I like the system a lot, but then again my last portable system was the GBA, and the 3DS is backwards compatible, so course I'm happy. It satisfies me.
I find most of your choices most odd besides number 1. I think art is truly in the eye of the beholder.
That's pretty much my point. Maybe all evidence points to it, but as far as journalism goes, I believe in innocent until proven guilty or until they admit it. Most people on here are just frothing with rage and willing for anyone to burn at the stake with it.
My personal opinion? Sure, they probably did it, but to report this as gaming news feels like you're pulling at straws.
I'd say 20-40 is perfect for the average game to me. Also depends on the game, but that's short enough for me to finish without taking forever. I also like my 60-100 hour games too, but for RPGs.
So this has to do with video games? Really? It was Lulzsec that took the credit for any remotely gaming related hacking. Anonymous never said they did the PSN hack.
Just one of the many DS titles I need to pick up now that I have a 3DS.
It's to the point where CGI can sometimes make you double-take, like Avatar, but consoles especially are not pushed that far, and frankly, it'd be a waste of money to do so.
Not sure if we want a game that looks like real life exactly. Real life can be very ugly.
But Metacritic IS an average of critic scores, which means most critics thought one way or another.
FF12 is probably my least favorite FF game yet. Most characters are bland for an FF game, it seems unfocused, the combat was hella hard for me, numerous, NUMEROUS random battles. I couldn't relate to it or really even care about it. I finished it out of sheer curiosity of when it was going to get better and have a point. It did have new and interesting places and nice grap...
Everyone has differing opinions. Unfortunately, mixed or negative reviews can kill a game. I've owned many a game where there were mixed reviews but I completely loved it. Metacritic is going to lead to mindless buying or not buying...But only for the already mindless.
I must disagree though I have not played FFXIII, towns are part of what I love in JRPGs. They break up the story, and I like to interact with the NPCs, and explore the cities.
Women do tend to like certain things just like men tend to like certain things. However, personality type overrules gender every time.
There shouldn't be a problem if Sony decides to make more games with realistic female protagonists for example, or more games with a focus on story. But if they are going to try to aim for what some people think women like (people with closed minds) like pink, shopping and Farmville or whatever, yeah that'd fail.
But...
