how 'bout both?
Does no one actually read anymore?
This article is factually wrong. The CMA did not say what was in agreements but actually mentionned the worries of one third party and how under a certain type of agreement, those worries would be warranted.
There is nothing about the actual terms of deals in the CMA report (that are actually available to the public).
I actually think this reflect the fact that Microsoft (and thus Bethesda) as pulled out of Russia. No new MS products and no support for existing products.
If they won't sell the game in Russia, there's no need to provide official language support.
They can always add it if and when Western companies return to Russia.
This is more a business decision and how to allocate ressources than a mark of being xenophobic.
I mean, I've seen the trailers.
The game looks great. The gameplay looks awesome.
But showcasing the power of the PS5? I'm sorry, I've played HFW and Returnal. The trailers don't showcase something more impressive...
That's nice.
I do wonder though what the audience for visually disabled gamers really is.
Worrying about people with disabilities is fine, but this seems like an addition that wouldn't make much of a difference.
I might be wrong though. But I can't shake the idea that options for visually impaired players is more of an image thing for the company than a genuinely needed feature...
It might not make sense financially to make it exclusive to XBox IMMEDIATELY.
You can have loads of business strategies to take business away from playstation while still releasing COD on it. For instance, you could make the next COD available day one on Game pass and available a month later for 70$/80€ on playstation, without a special pack exclusive to Xbox.
Plus, this is also to dominate the PC market, having COD day one on Game pass PC is HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!
Microsoft was down 7% for gaming revenue (5% in constant currency) and Sony was down 2% probably due to favorable yen exchange rate.
To be more fair, you could have said that all gaming companies (some few exceptions) were down in revenue in the last quarter. Your (wrong) comparison is just flaming bait...
They'll get a slap on the wrist for that.
In the EU, this is against the law. You can't sell something to have it not work for your customers. if players were accustomed to stack memberships for years, they should be able to stack memberships now. The fact that you create a new service does not change the terms of sale.
I'm sure someone will sue...
But... Sony only buys studios they have a historic and exclusive relationship with...
it's technically a 2020 game tho :-)
Funniest thing is that top playing games are #1 Forza Horizon 5 #2 Hades #3 Halo Infinite.
This article is just cherry picking for clicks
That's not really the same thing.
Here Google would have bought Epic to prevent it to complain about the fees owed on the play store. In the case of Microsoft, they bought Bethesda to bolster their first party offering.
This would have been done to shut up a vocal opponent of their business practices. It's real shady
If terms and conditions are illegal, everyone is allowed to bypass them.
That's the point of the case. Prove that the terms and conditions are abusive and therefore shouldn't apply.
Companies can't impose things that go against the general rule of law. But it's courts or Parliaments that decide what that general rule is.
First Halo, First Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Ori, First Gears of War, Alan Wake, Forza, Forza Horizon, ...
All games that were published by Microsoft and benefited from the support of Xbox Games Studios.
Granted not much happened during the one era, but we should give credit where credit is due
That's all fine for the startup of the machine. But handling saves is another matter.
I still remember the hassle it was to transfer my ps4 save of spiderman to the PS5 edition. Download the ps4 edition, update the game, transfer the save online, download the ps5 version of the game, download the save.
ugh...
And the UI sucks. It's pretty, very pretty, but it sucks. Miles Morales was great though
MS Gave away tons of games over the years. I doubt that if they ever did it Sony would do anything.
But they have been slacking lately because of Gamepass.
One thing though, the add mention, xbox series X/S while not mentionning PS5. Meaning an update for Series?
The article understands nothing about business.
The only reason for the creation of a new structure like this is to give Bethesda independance in regards to Microsoft as a whole. It was probably part of the deal: I let you buy our property but we can still do what we want with it.
With Vault in place, Bethesda staff will only have to report to higher ups within the company and not microsoft staff, meaning they'll only be responsible for development a...
hyperbole much?
I mean the game is awful. But destroyed?
