I think you might be underestimating the importance of the Activision acquisitions and the casual gamers population.
I think both can coexist, why does one doing well have to be detrimental to the success of the other?
AAAA, AAA developments (especially well known IP) can still go through traditional physical routes. Consumers can expect certain values out of these games, therefore, less risky investment. Though imo, these games, the long running ips to be specific, seem to lack that certain surprising or refreshing elements to them because we already know what to expect or wants out of...
Ah...lost Odyssey sequel would be nice. That game was so philosophical excellent.
It is possible that Sony trying to build a metaverse for their VR like facebooks?
That's actually the shortest most logical and straight to the point view on these services. Perhaps MS may actually use Sony payment for Azure (for their cloud ps+ etc..) as part of that subsidization.
What is quality? How do you perceive something as quality?
I see that word get thrown around alot, but I dont see any actual contexts for why that is? Any input?
Yeah I mean it isn't bad per say, but the constant de'ja vu feeling for that 1st 15hrs or so can be quite boring.
Though I love ff13-2, it was excellent with muchh more variety. Haven't try ff13-3 yet so cant really say about that.
Doesnt Sony paying MS to use Azure cloud?
So what is Sony's goal for this service?
- If it aiming for core fans, well most likely they already buy the newest games, so that 18 months 1st party add on seems like a double dipping, if core fan using this service. Though we'll have to wait for what other 3rd parties offerings? Will EA access be added without additional charge?
- if it is for enticing new gamers or FOMO group, well they will be missing out anyways if they have to wait that long for 1st party.

Seems like Sony testing how loyalty their fans are, which can be many.
It is BS move, so I'll just wait for severe price drop, like bargain bin drop. Still have other games to play at the moment.
I think it is better to compare HFW to more AC like games or Farcry, particularly Farcry Primal to be exact. These games do have more focus on combat and such (which can be quite fun) and looks insanely beautiful.
Nevertheless, interm of insane details, how grounded/interactive the world are (has actual physicality that enable ones to really play around with it surrounding), and surprising randomness elements of encounters as you explore, it cant be compare to games lik...
Netflix depend on subscriptions alone. Gamepass is different in that it can still sell dlc, microtransactions, monthly subscriptions and can also sell the game on gamepass too. People may be more lienient toward buying microtransactions or dlcs if they get to access the game without extra charge.
Retaining subs isn't as hard as Netflix either (Netflix need consistent contents like episodic shows, not movie, to keep subs) because most games have MP element to them.

There are so much to love about Fromsoft soul games (dark majestic world presentation, enemies, especially bosses design, the mysteries, the deep philosophical lore that many seems to be overlooked, the massive amount of weapons, skills, and crafting, etc...).
Sadly, I just cant get into the somewhat limited or repetitive approach to most combat situations (wait, dodge, approach for some damage, roll out and repeat); I tried them all from demon soul, dark soul, to bloodborn...
Dont know, out of 7 games, about 5 are darkstalker and its various version. If only they can do Ultra ultimate super fighting fighting collection:
- MvC2 (license require)
- CvSNK2 (license require), I still keep the original xbox just to play this.
- Street Fighter 3: 3rd strike
- Darkstalker chronicles
- Rival School
- Jojo Bizzarre Adventure
- Red Earth
Some varieties instead of sequential from the same ip....
Should have done a remake for chrono trigger too. Chrono trigger on SNES and Landstalker on Sega Genesis were two of the best JRPGs back then.
Not sure how it will turns out. If they only use real professional racer data for training AI, I can see it going somewhere. If they just use everyones data, well it gonna develops alot of unrealistic, unsafe, and straight up illegal ramming habit. Though it would make games feels more like you are racing with real gamers.
"Organically change"?
Nobody want those processes, inorganic, GMO stuff no more. :)
If Sony want to make a gamepass like service, they need live services types of games to keep the subs. Just like most of MS games are heavily focus on MP and live services so that they can keep gamers playing and pay their monthly. Even their SP games (Bathesda) take thousand of hrs of gameplay and people still playing it since 360/ps3 days. SP game that Sony have (though high in production value) can only last for a couple of days at most, once and done. They needed something like this;...
Gotg combat section would have been much more entertaining if you can switch to other party members like tails or tri-Ace games. Their combat repertoires are already limited (just 5 members total) and unable to switch make it even more repetitive (you hardly notice others effect when u just focusing on your own attack). I guess they going more like Mass Effect types of combat? Either way, everything else were actually pretty solid, especially all the quarrels between parties members were b...
