In the few levels I played there was no ammo. At the end of a mission, corpses and weapon scrap were automatically brought back to the base and used as research materials but it was mostly tutorial levels so don't know if there will be areas or bodies to loot in later missions. Got an interview booked at E3 so I'll ask then.

Pretty much yeah. Curse you Nintendo and your utilisation of hardware features! *shakes fist*

Oh and the camera that drops you off the edge of the screen if you don't move fast enough. Didn't see the point in that at all. Rest of it was great.

It's Kinect-only. Cracked some whips at my webhosts and the site should be back up now. Apologies for the downtime.

Molyneux specifically said that you can go off-road wherever you want. You can turn around or stop and start your horse and carriage. When you're not on your horse you can move around and turn by pointing your body or hand in the direction you want to go.

I'm not sure how/if that would translate to moving backwards but certainly the free forwards/sideways movement has been shown as valid way to navigate in other titles like Kinect Disneyland Adventures

Yup, just dialled it from my mobile and the office line. Says "Welcome to Fraud Protect"
0800 456 5913, yes?

[Disclosure: Yeah, that's my site. The number totally works for me]

Yes, yes. Self-editing fail. Fixed :P

Did you get dumped by a NZ girlfriend or something?

Jeez, could they wank over the fact that it's Apple a little more, please?

What, no Dreamfall? There's loads of action in the games the lists.

Noooo. Look again at image 3, where Monkey is in the background against an explosion on the right and 2 guys falling over in the foreground. Monkey and the metal floor surface have much softer focus (read: blurry) in the PS3 version.

You can see it again on the pods in image 7 (ignoring the obvious screen tear on the PS3 version). Don't know what that website were playing at but the PS3 shots look sub-HD to me, too.

It's just good business. If he sells to you at a loss and you fail to save them, he's just given away all his good stuff. What will the competent hero 30 mins behind you use to save them? ;)

Yup, Oblivion and the other Bethesda Softworks games are more the exception than the rule for Western RPGs. Classics like Baldur's Gate + NWN and now Dragon Age are all filled with chests ripe for the picking. I find it weird that NPCs never complain to innkeepers about all their good stuff being nicked.

Definitely Yay!

BUT... make them skippable and give me a nice movie menu so I can watch them later. When I only have a 20 minute slot, sometimes I want to jump right in and PLAY, not sit around for an indeterminable length of time.

I try but FF8 really drilled that victory fanfare into my soul and winning in FF games without it just seem like hollow victories.

Baldur's Gate?? Don't forget the Gold Box games by SSI. Loads of great games from 1988 onwards based on TSR's AD&D and Buck Rogers paper games; fantastic precursors to the Black Isle RPGs.

Ofc, Wikipedia also tells me that Final Fantasy was originally released in 1987. Convergent evolution FTW!

"There will be a place where hardcore gamers feel really at home, and it might be post 10 o'clock at night, post 11 o'clock at night. "

Dude, I'm playing games post 10 o'clock at night. He doesn't honestly expect that hardcore gamers will stop playing to watch his TV show, does he? For a lot of the guys I know that grew up with games, 9pm onwards is the only time they get to break out the 18+ games without the kids.

Yeah, Xleague.tv was based entirely around the hardcore demographic and tanked royally. Good to see these guys at least recognise that looking down the barrel is excellent when you're the gamer but terrible for television. Looks like they're aiming more for gaming culture, which could be a really good thing, IMO.

Now that we have the facts, we'll know how to retort? So thanks to this article if someone should call me an ugly gamer, I'm now armed with this witty comeback:

"Actually sir, the whole idea of what is considered ugly and what is not is situational and subject to personal opinion. Love for video games has no bearing on the physical characteristics of a person."

Er... thanks, GamePodunk.

I felt the same way when I finished the main storyline. Sometimes I think voice acting really hinders immersiveness (acting quality aside) because it becomes prohibitively expensive to make minor characters react to world-changing events. Three Dawg's news announcements are a nice touch but given that the entire world seems to listen to him, you'd think NPC dialogue would change once in a while, no?

Yeah. Every time I see Kinectimals I think of Black & White and Dungeon Keeper. If only they would build Kinect Chicken Slapper.

Wait, was it just me that spent most of Dungeon Keeper slapping the feed chickens?
