This looks wild. Definitely checking it out.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! PC Gamers boned again.
Loved this on PSP as a throwaway bit 'o fun. Can't see myself having the same experience on the PC.
Better late than never - that's still 3 great games for under £16!
I mean *it* looks uglier. But then, as time has gone by, so do I.
That Atari Jaguar... Every time I look at it the thing looks uglier!
From the writer: "Let me clarify my opinion: I don’t have a problem with video games portraying controversial issues, of depicting sexual assault, rape, murder, genocide, goat sadism etc. I do have a problem if it isn't handled respectfully or if the motives behind such portrayals are questionable. In my opinion, Ground Zeroes doesn't handle this respectfully and Kojima’s motives are unclear. I admit the title to this article could be less click-baity, but then nobody would have ...
I know! Loved the voice acting in the game and I'm usually the type of JRPG player who turns the language to Japanese if it's available.
There's the whole Idol movement in Japan that we have little knowledge or exposure to over in the west. Girls are meant to be cute or 'pure' which means young, innocent and virginal.
Not something most guys are willing to admit they like I guess. But I don't think Agarest is anywhere near as bad as Hyperdimension Neptunia!
I love the option of being able to try these games before they're fully formed. Price is always gonna be a sticking point for somebody but as long as devs don't take the piss, I'm onboard.
Thanks buddy. You make a very good counter argument and this wave of remakes could well be the perfect filler material before the big guns get going.
They need to scrap this GO nonsense and just make a decent PSP 2 with a wretched analogue stick, put a load of PS2 games up on the PSN and watch the money roll in. There are a ton of decent RPGs that would hugely benefit from being on a portable platform in this way.
Funny how the music industry changed its opinion when MONEY suddenly became involved. I get the feeling though that they'll soon flood the rhythm game scene with so much content it becomes overwhelming.
Poor old Grin - guess that's what happens when Terminator Salvation, Wanted: Weapons of Fate and Bionic Commando collide in a mess. Thought BC wasn't THAT bad but those sales are nut-bustingly bad.
Knew nothing about this console but what an excellent read - thanks! Now, of course, I get the retro urge to buy every console ever made to educate myself. Better clear out that garage...
The Path is an interesting attempt at something a bit more abstract but, god, I felt as if I had to really work at the game to reveal anything particularly meaningful.
A fantastic and insightful article. It's also good to hear someone talking about Nintendo's Demo Play in a positive light - its got great potential for opening up games to a far wider audience.
Have to admit that Fossil Fighters brings up some epic imagery. Fusty old archaeologists beating each other to death with Ammonite casts? I want that made.
I have to admit to liking Gears story as well, there were some nice touches in the game that got lost amidst the wave of blood and gibs. I'm pretty sure there's some deep allegory at work with the humans vs. the underground locust but maybe that's just me.
RE5 should really be in the top 5 campest stories ever - it certainly went to the school of OVERACTING and GURNING.
Oof! That sounds baaaad.
