People seem to forget that this is running on a mobile chipset inside a console 1/16 the size of a PS4, and that you can take this with you anywhere.
If you're complaining about graphics, the answer is simple: don't get it. There are plenty of other people out there who will buy this due to portability, convenience, and because it simply works.
"Also, since both players require their own camera control, it would mean that you would be forced to buy an extra pro controller to even play the game, which seems like it would be a little unfair to the concept of the Switch. It would have been quite an effort to make an automatic camera system to make single-joycon play work."
First reason makes sense since Switch was recently revealed and released. This second point is questionable though because PS4/Pro and X...
Toxicity ran both ways. There were some metacritic users who purposely down-voted the user score in Breath of the Wild for the reason that it was "getting too much good reviews" or to "even out the positive reviews." What the hell kind of reasoning is that. At least leave some constructive reasoning, but that was just plain nonsense.
Same was said about the Switch and look where it is now. It's way too early to predict the outcome of a product we don't even know much about.
To be fair, PS4 and Xbox One had an install base well over +60 million and +20 million respectively when DOOM first launched, while the Switch had barely even hit 8 million. Other factors include this being a game launched last year, meaning numerous players may have already purchased the game and you can buy it cheaper in other platforms.
What developers care for is:
Install Base>Ease of Development (Architecture)>Power
If the Switch sells enough systems, there will be 3rd party games guaranteed and it's not like the Wii and the Xbox 360/PS3 anymore. All PS4, Xbox One, and the Switch are capable of HD gaming. The Switch is already more powerful than the Wii U in portable mode. The gap between consoles is not as big anymore.
Have you actually held it in your hand?
Sorry to rain in your parade but the Wii U gamepad's resolution is 854x480 with a resistive touch screen, while the Switch is 1280x720 with a brighter, sharper, and clearer capacitive touch screen. I'm a Nintendo fan who just happens to have a computer with an i7 and 2x GTX 1080 SLI's (don't believe me? check out my profile page) and I'm still hyped for this console. Research before spewing nonsense.
Owning a computer with an i7 and two GTX 1080 FTW's in SLI (look into my account for proof), I know what power is, yet I'm still looking forward to the Nintendo Switch. I've noticed, besides the exclusives, that the PS4, Xbox One, PS4 Pro, along with Xbox Scorpio are all heading towards becoming a PC.
Nintendo innovates despite the tremendous risks involved (i.e. Virtual Boy,Wii U, etc.). You can take your home console quality games on the go and never have to w...
To the average consumer, their sales numbers might not be much, but you still have to consider the amount of profit they sell for each console. Even though sales look lousy they raking in plenty of cash.
Their belief was always to create fun games with unforgettable experiences with weaker tech.
It's one of the reasons why Nintendo is still standing after 100+ years.
Note:
Although in the future, things might change. Nintendo mi...
I like how he is very frank and open to his opinions and thoughts. At least I can say that he is not a fake or plastic kind of person. He's actually upfront and doesn't sugar coat things. I'm sure he has his reason for being extreme.
Nintendo, the company many people claim to be doomed since the 1800's.
This is a pre-release version. Bugs may not be squished yet so I'm not really surprised if there are frame drops.
I know this is off topic, but the Wii U owners are sadly getting the same kind of judgement when PS4 and Xbox One are compared to the Wii U. Yet, many people just shrug it off, and say it's weak or has no games.
Owning both PS4 and Wii U, even though the Wii U isn't as technologically advanced as PS4, it still has many hidden jewels that people tend to not see. Games that are actually fun for the heart, not just some egotistical train of manliness type of games like m...
I know right? I not surprised that it sold poorly even though it was a straight port from Xbox 360 and ran horrible than the other consoles, plus it had no DLC or support..... oh wait.....
Fun Fact:
Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Ghosts only utilized 1 out of the 3 CPU cores that the Wii U possesses. Now imagine if they actually made an effort and use all three, and actually put an effort to work out the bugs.
Didn't Mr. Yoshida say that they don't know why the PS4 is selling well. Without the reason as to why it's doing so well makes them oblivious to what they can plan ahead to ensure a proper path to success for the PS4 in the future.
Well, one might ask as to why this is the case. I might have the answers for you:
1. Gimped Ports
2. Lazy Coding
3. Missing features
4. Shovelware
5. Lack of Creativity
6. Lack of Passion
7. Lack of Heart
Most, and I said MOST games for Nintendo platforms don't sell well because of the bad practices that 3rd parties tend to do (above). The impressions that 3rd parties give of to Nintendo fans is that they...
Talk about double-standards......
What about the 3DS which is selling like hotcakes. They completely stopped support after 2012:

I feel that this guy is lying to us Wii U owners. Not only did they delay the exclusive Rayman Legends, but also turned it multiplat. Then out of the 3 consoles, the Wii U ver. sold the most! Delaying Watch_Dogs is...
