But honestly I think that the best ps3 RPG is Demon's Soul. RPG FANS IMPORT THIS GAME!! It's an extremely challenging dungeon crawler in a dark gothic world, but very rewarding. I would almost say it's an horror rpg, the world is totally twisted. The bosses are epic!! It gives a Shadow of the Colossus feeling.

DS, PSP (since they're remaking a couple of em), but yeah with graphics like that it shouldn't be too much trouble to get it on all platforms

and yes i've heard that it's a classic and all, but I don't feel like playing an old gen RPG now that i've played Demon's soul (IMPORT THIS GAME!!! It's unbelievable!)

Almost flawless beta? Don't want to sound rude, but did you even play it? Even the open beta was still filled with bugs, quests and some text not even translated, a couple of skills are bugged and still don't work properly, chests in lvl 35 instances dropping level 1-5 stuff, etc.
While the gameplay is great, the game has balancing issues, especially higher level.

What I like about MMOs is the customization. Every good MMO has that and you can really play differently than others.
But the best feature about those monthly fees is that you're paying for an evolving game. Not that the game isn't complete, but they add "Downloadable content" (I guess you could say) so it's kind of an endless expansion.
Until they "Balanced" the game, or so they say. Now for instance groups, you need a Knight, a priest and a Mage. The other classes got nerfed and are just secondary and have no specific role. It's a shame really, the game was fine before :\
But there is ONE thing I didn't like. You always had to DRAW DRAW DRAW. When you found a new spell that was stronger than the others, draw draw draw for like 20 min. That's was the turn off. Compared to the materias where you leveled em up by regular fighting.
Yeah materias... those were the good ol days :p

but once you get the hang of it you'll be headshotting people like other games. Maybe try to turn without pushing the joystick all the way on one side? I didn't like it back when I first tried the beta, but after a while I thought it was great! it really adds to the realism.
But if you've played warhawk and uncharted I don't see why this is a problem really.. They have the same style of "gliding controls". I think it's just nitpicking because people aren't used to it y...

The last gothic i played was very disappointing. I think it was the third. But I can't help being drawn to open world RPGs like that though. If only there were more games like Ultima 8 and 9 :\
