@3GenGames
Capcom made Breath of Fire.
This new engine looks great, and I really like Kazuma's new outfit.
The best action RPG I've played this gen is Tales of Graces F. Sure, it has no moral ambiguity and you can't go anywhere you want, but it has a great story, great combat mechanic, and it brings back memories of the glory days of RPGs while still being fresh and new.
"I haven’t tried the beta for the upcoming free-to-play title Dark Blood Online from Outspark yet, and I doubt I will, if only because the female character creation model is pretty repugnant."
Way to be objective. Yet another step back for journalism. Maybe if he'd actually tried the game he'd have a little more ground to stand on, but dismissing a game just because of its art style is just as shallow as a guy dismissing a girl because of her appearance.
Siskel and Ebert liked the SEGA Activator. They gave it two fists up, and two feet too.
I don't think you should have included anyone from a Final Fantasy game in the "needs a reboot" section because SE will never reboot those games.
Instead, you could have put two other characters, like Regina from Dino Crisis and Marina Liteyears from Mischief Makers for example, on the list.
It would be funny if one of the developers of those visual novel games showed this article to his boss.
"See? We should localize these games in the West. They'll play them just to get the trophies!"
But then the boss would probably say:
"Yeah, but they'd wait until it was $5.00 to buy it."
I don't think Toriyama is as bad as he seems, I just think he's being used in the wrong way. As a part of a team he could really do well, but they put him in charge of everything and thus we get something similar to what's happened with the Star Wars films due to Lucas having complete control.
As for Wada, I think he tried to move SE forward to expand their reach in terms of genre and financial income, but he seems to make some odd decisions and he doesn't see...
So apparently according to some of the comments I see here:
1. The 360 should not be banned from import even though they are breaking the patent agreement by refusing to pay for them. (They could just make them here, thus creating jobs and avoiding lost sales, but that would cost too much money compared to lawyer fees and the patent cost they failed to pay in the first place.)
2. The sales of Xbox 360s are one of the few pillars propping up the fragile US eco...
An Even Greater Challenge: Play Your Portables In a Public Restroom! (With the volume turned all the way up!)
I was debating between buying a 3DS or a Vita, but because of these commercials I will be buying a white PS Vita.
"The worst games of 2012 so far"
I think it's hilarious that at the bottom of every critique it says: "Where can you buy this?"
"Rig is a Canadian character who specializes in Tae Kwon Do."
I mean they try to hard to please everyone and forget that they're the ones who made the original game that people liked in the first place.
Listening to fans is fine, but developers shouldn't let them run the program. Not all ideas transition well into the actual game and they should know what does and doesn't work.
I bought DA:Origins and ME2 for the PS3. I won't be buying anymore games from Bioware.
After hearing about the mess that was DA2 and now the whole ME3 debacle it seems like they listen to their fans both too much and not enough at the same time.
The romances in DA2 were influenced by fan fantasies, allowing anyone and everyone to be romanced regardless of character traits or implied sexuality and the choices you made in DA:O didn't matter.

I agreed with a few of the games on their lists but disagreed with most of them, but that's okay because it's "Kotaku's List".
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even Kotaku.
12 years ago the Xbox brand didn't even exist and the only choice consumers had was between Sony and Nintendo, unless you chose the ill fated Dreamcast.
It's only the S model that would be banned.
It will be pretty funny if Namco Bandai sells a lot of copies of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, but doesn't get a lot of preorders due to the Snoop Dog stuff.
Konami really needs to bring Pawa Puros back to the US and make a new Goemon game while they're at it.
