OnLive is still alive. Actually they lowered the price a few months ago for their PlayPack to $9.95 a month. Haha, only 5 cents but a reduction nonetheless!

The main difference is that PS Now is more like OnLive 1.0 (a streaming rental service) while OnLive 2.0 now streams using your Steam library. Regardless of whether you stay with OnLive or not you will always have a local copy of the game on your hard drive that is not dependent on OnLive to play. This is much more appealing to me compared to PS Now where all you're doing is renting a streaming version of a game. Also the resolution shouldn't have an effect on the latency. It'll i...

I'm not so sure about that. PS Now seems to be purely a rental service (much more like the old OnLive). OnLive now streams games in your Steam library and at the end of the day (whether you stay with OnLive or not) you will always have a local copy on your hard drive that is not dependent on OnLive to play. That sounds way more appealing to me than simply renting a streaming version of a game. Also papa (I think you were referring to me), like I said above, when OnLive relaunched they cha...

Glad to see OnLive get a couple releases same day as PC (Tropico 5 and Killer is Dead). This is what I thought the Steam machine was going to be; a cheap little device that would stream my Steam games from a data center to my TV/PC/laptop/phone/tablet. Hopefully more publishers jump on board!

Thuway...isn't that the guy who's one more inaccurate rumor away from a permaban?

I actually really liked Rob & Big and the Fantasy Factory. His latest show I'm not a huge fan of but it's alright. Basically a copy of tosh.0 which was a copy of the Soup.

I like it. Don't think it's the most amazing design ever but I think it looks alright. Definitely looks like they're aiming for a more minimalist approach.

Actually MS didn't "report" to any news sites on any of those. Major Nelson put up the first one on his flickr as a friendly jab at Sony and other sites picked up on it. The second one was discovered by TeamXbox which is not an official Microsoft forum and is run by IGN.

The same can be said for Microsoft. It seems "trendy" and "hip" to hate on them now days though.

Yes, they mistakenly used PGR3 footage a few times when promoting some of their products.

Actually I think you might be referring to Sony using PGR3 footage (on multiple occasions). I don't ever recall them using Forza footage.

We're going to party like it's 2010! Hopefully Onlive has learned from it's mistakes and will put on a better show this time around.

I completely understand! I really don't think we'll see something like Onlive become the norm for a looooong time. I don't think Onlive ever intended to replace traditional consoles or PC gaming but rather the aim was to offer an additional option to compliment existing platforms.

Unfortunately they weren't turning a profit and were actually losing several thousands of dollars every month. Their debts piled up while the user base they hoped to have just didn't come. OnLive (OnLive, Inc.) turned to an Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors (ABC) back in August of 2012 to absolve itself of these massive debts. They basically sold all of the original company's assets and created a new company in it's wake (OL2, Inc.) while keeping the "OnLive" m...

I agree! I'm very interested to see what they've been working on. According to OnLive Nate (an OnLive staff member who posts every now and then at OnLive HQ) they've been working on this "new OnLive" since September of last year.

To be fair Ritsujun...it only has 1GB of internal memory which is hardly anything. To take full advantage of PSN and PSN+ you will need to buy a memory card.
