I think he's more bummed that people highlight those as the top factors of quality when they are just contributors. Your cellphone metaphor isn't a representative comparison and that over dramatization of the difference in those specific quality markers is the problem he's referring too. A more apt comparison is a movie shot in imax vs one that isnt. The regular version is fine and would still be a very enjoyable experience for most people though the other is a higher quality expe...
It would be better for my wallet if I was like you, but my gaming pallette is just too diverse. There are too many great games on all platforms that I don't want to miss out on so that why PS4, while fantastic, alone will never be enough for me.
I love having access to all 3 and PC, but PS4 + Switch is a hell of a combo this gen. Happy for all the great games this year and I'm hoping next year is great too.
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but one thing the Switch has done for me is make me wish everyone would drop their arms race and make portability a standard. I just want to be able to take any game I play with me when I travel for work or take my game off the TV when my family members want to watch something but still keep playing. Obviously many more people prefer to play games on their tv and don't have my same circumstance so I understand why people wouldn't want that unless t...
Making a hybrid wasn't taking a risk since it was a natural evolution of their devices and the obvious direction they would take given the Wii U was a half measure for this. Copying the current arms race isn't a risk either so not sure what you're talking about.
I mean they don't want that either since Nintendo is also making mobile games too so....
so what you're saying is, zelda and mario get them in the door, and Xenoblade locks them in? Gotcha
Seriously though. I don't think there has been a Bethesda game on a Nintendo system for a long time if ever. And the Switch is getting 3 (albeit 2 older ports and one later than the rest). That's still a pretty big statement that Bethesda is investing in Switch and will likely do more if these sell well.
Yeah it honestly still has to compete with Mario Odessy and Xenoblade 2 (less likely to be voted up in the mainstream) assuming they are good. The only contender for me personally with BOTW at the moment is Persona 5 though I'd still give the edge to BOTW.
The ice isn't getting thinner because they're making mobile games on android and ios as well as games for their dedicated hybrid. They are profiting from both pies and diversifying their business even beyond gaming because they see the big picture which you seem to be missing.
Hey I'm just admiring your shade status. You keep putting Silky Johnston to shame Ice-T is gonna have to invite you to the PH Ball next year.
Damn I gotta give it to you. Your passive aggressive game is on point. Tell us how you really feel.
Damn dude. You and all these other people sure bit hard to that person's Zelda v. Horizon bait. Seems like the lot of you have inferiority complexes.
Are people not allowed to disagree with an opinion? Disagreeing could simply mean that they want this game for Switch even though yeahright2 doesn't and it's just those people sharing their opinion just like he/she did. It doesn't mean they're fanboys and I don't know why you're taking it so personally.
Might be a generational thing. Splatoon was made by a younger group of devs at Nintendo and they didn't have any problem talking about inspirations from other shooters while you don't hear that much from the public execs.
There were plenty of devs who complained about the wii u. Most significantly, Bethesda had no interest and From software literally laughed at the question of developing for wii u but both are on the Switch list. Now that doesn't mean much until we actually play their games, but I'm much more interested from their words than the likes of EA, Ubi or even Ken Levine.
To be fair, PS4 outselling Xbox One is hardly news as well and is also pretty expected since it's been the case almost the entire gen.
This. Play what you like. If I ever had to be stuck with just one platform of any currently I'd hate missing some awesome games elsewhere.
I'd love to see another new IP but I think ARMS is going to be the only new IP from them at least this year. It does look like a cool take on the fighting genre in a similar way that Splatoon did.
In what way was Horizon Zero Dawn a surprise hit? It looked amazing from it's first reveal and all press and word of mouth was positive for it. It's not a surprise hit just because it was a new IP. Days Gone on the other hand doesn't look as interesting to me in comparison to a game like Horizon, but I will definitely get it and try it out because I know Sony Bend is a talented studio and deserves a full playthrough before final judgement.
