Technically it's not strictly 'closed beta', because if you have a key you can invite your friends. Also during the Christmas period they had a free sign up time where anyone could join the beta. Secondly, why should the game not get more press just because it's in beta? I was just commenting on the fact that not many people are talking about it on a site like N4G that's all.
Ok, the problem (if you want to call it that) here is that the gaming industry has moved within the last ten years from a more niche 'hardcore' PC market to a more 'casual' console market. Look back to the year 2000, Thief II, Deus Ex and Diablo 2. All of these titles were released within months of each other, all pushed the boundaries creatively and artistically, and I'm pretty sure most teenagers playing console games today will not have sampled these greats (forgive me some of you have). ...
I'm glad that there's a shooter coming out on the ps3 that takes a little bit of what COD does, disregards all the crap (like the fact that you basically can't spawn anywhere on the maps without having someone behind you), and just tries to be a bit more intelligent in general.

I was just trying to make comparisons to certain gameplay mechanics, the fact that it's 5v5 and involves a lot of team play aspects (you could equate each 'lane' to a bomb site or pathway in a CS map). Also the fact that each hero has a certain skill set which will ultimately compliment other teammate's hero...
