For how much almighty Microsoft(and every other modern corporation) preaches to us plebeians about the 10 Commandments of Progressivism, they sure are willing to turn a blind eye when there's money involved. Just like how they found Notch's wrongthink to be "problematic," they had no problem paying the guy billions of dollars for his game. Now they're paying out for a publisher mired in MeToo controversy. No problem though, they've got the PR money it takes to contro...

Didn't read this article(Kotaku = no click), but isn't this just a case of "to each their own?" You could argue this can lead to a trend of increased monetary things creeping into video games, but so what? I have no interest in this stuff, but as long as the items are cosmetic, the actual gameplay won't change. In reality, all that seems to be happening is that players are now enabled to do what they want with their digital items; items are no longer confined until etern...

I hate how there's only a limited set of modes that are chosen from each day. It gets really repetitive even though there's allegedly 50-something of them in total. And team modes rarely, and I mean rarely, ever appear. I wish there was more player control over which modes were selected.

I really like the idea of distilling a modern game into a simpler form. Some spin-offs aren't far off, Motorstorm RC coming to mind.

I'd recommend Wuppo for only $2 (or even its full price). It's a cutesy, side-scrolling shooter adventure set in a living, lore-rich world.

We can thank big tech, power-hungry goverment officials that are in bed with big tech, the sensationalist media who are also in bed with big tech, and most importantly the Chinese Communist Party for all of this.

Oh wow, this was a trip down memory lane. Club Penguin, Millsberry, and the countless Newgrounds, Kongregate, Miniclip, etc games I stumbled upon got me into game dev as well.
It's a shame I was too young and stupid to properly absorb coding at the time, but man I enjoyed looking at publicly released .fla files, messing around by changing variables values and replacing the art with my own to create small demos.
