I would have preorded by now if I knew which system I wanted it on. Half my friends are getting it on pc and the rest on ps3. Why couldn't battlefield have been a cross platform compatible/ combatable game?
I loved MW2 untill about the time the javelin glitch appeared. After that it was all down hill. That was exploited till nearly every match I played had no less than 6 people doing it. After IW patched it, it was nearly 9 out of 10 games being filled with unlimited, fully automatic grenade launchers. Then I stopped playing for about a month in hopes it would get better. What do I find when I start playing again? People jumping 400ft in the air, invincible, xp loss when enemy killed, leader boa...
I have vista 64 bit prem. I like it over xp except for a few things.
1. HUGE system requiremets over xp. (I like having smooth everything)
2. Some games have issues in vista unless you run them in compat mode. This can entail making multipul files run int xp mode.
3. lots of xp programs dislike running at all in vista.
4. vista has no programs yet capable of buring dvd or cd iso files, only stand alone files.
5. I STILL HATE WINDOWS ACTIVATION! It is sooooo...
Not a major difference. I do believe that DX10 is still too new. The 360 is capable of using DX 10 to a certain degree. I understand that it is different than true dx 10 though. I believe it was talked about when the topic originally came up quite a while ago.
I get the impression that more than 9 hours of gaming will finally melt the console. If this is the case, dont play for more than 9 hours. Heck, I cant even sit and play for that long in any one gaming session. Try playing for a couple hours, take a break, repeat. No wonder people die due to starvation and what not. SAD.
Why is everyong so hyped about a BETA? People are treating it as if it were gold. I would much rather play the final version of the game rather than be spoiled by a beta that is not quite finished. The huge amount of placeholders in the beta are obvious, but the new textures here and there are true jaw droppers. I am already somewhat spoiled because of all the video and pics of the game, but what about the final game? So many people give me the impression that the beta is more important than ...
The M6D was WAY too powerful. A pistol should not be more powerful than the main assault weapons in any game.
I only have 4 360 games, and I am leaving for Marine Corps boot camp soon (jan 2008, yes, that is a short time). I have the premium system and will have to buy new everything when I complete boot and MCT. I try not to buy any extra digital content as the whole transfer problem is going to become more and more of a problem. I love MS products, but I am getting really really angry about the whole beastly prices for everything. 50$ for a controller that costs 10$ to make, 20g hd for
100$,...
Halo Wars is not the only RTS for consoles. Xbox 360 has that Lord of the Rings RTS game BFME2, Halo wars eventually and the new Command and Conquer 3 game, all RTs games. I believe that the mouse/keyboard combo is great for fps games, but should not be allowed for FPS games. A mouse/keyboard would be great for the RTS games as it just is way easier to click on your units. This is made even easier because many rts games are starting to get rid of building individual units in favor of building...
I have Ubuntu on an old pc and it runs great. The productivity tools out there are free and awsome and soooo much easier to get than windows. I hate Linux though because of a SEVERE lack of retail games, and you have to compile other programs sometimes. I still prefer Windows as that is what I am used to. (but dang, linux is getting impressive.)
I have Windows Vista 64 bit, Windows XP, Windows 2k, Windows 98 and 98SE, Windows 95, and old non working verions of Windows NT and 3.1.
You know that all the extras will be released as addons for the original consoles. I understand the whole ripped off feel, and I totally agree with the fact that if this kind of thing keeps up that launch consoles will fail. I also remember that the PS1 and 2 both had remakes, one of which killed the HD ability of the ps2 (correct me if Im wrong).
but all my friends keep complaining of weird problems that suddenly fix themselves. Like games or controller ports not working, then working the next day. Although, they have really hot rooms and lots of dust. I think dust is the cause of all 360 deaths so far. I believe this now because recently, one of my computers power supplies started making a buring smell and scorched the metal in the PSU's casing. Upon opening the PSU, I discovered craploads of dust. Also, the original xbox I noticed a...
This game looks amazing. I just hope the demons from hell, lag, dont ruin the party.
"360 isnt even close be powerful enough to handle such graphics like Final Fantasy XIII you total retard considering it cant even handle CG game play."
Hahahahahahahahaha!!!! That is the funniest thing I have ever heard. In fact, that is the same kind of statement I heard when Halo and GTA 3 first came out. You dont know if the 360 can or cannot do CG graphics. You know why? Because no one does. How do YOU know that by the time the 360 life cycle is over, that Photo r...
I plan on giving all my old Xbox 360 stuff to my bro as I am leaving for Marine Corps Boot Camp in January '08. By the time I get out of boot and MCT, I hope that the new 360 stuff is out so I can buy it all at once. Yay!! Once a gamer, always a gamer!
The game is ok. It is not GTA, a good thing, and is full of action and cool goings on, but it is not worth the $60 or so it is. I agree that the Halo 3 beta is Turbo pumping the sales of the game. It took me a while to say "No" and decide to wait for a price drop. Not playing the Halo beta will not kill me. I dont even know why I dont want to play the beta anymore. Maybe because it will kill the awesomeness of Halo 3 when it does come out? I think so.
They are in fact two seperate games. Halo 3 is an FPS game while Halo Wars will be an RTS game. Halo Wars is also set to be released definately after Halo 3. I also heard that it will be exclusive to the 360 at least for a while.
I personally think that anyone who even likes halo should just go out and get all four books and the 2 games. Then you will see how epic Halo is. Plus, you can see how they can really expand Halo to many many many directions.
So, to lea...
I loved both games but Halo 1, even with the repeating level geometry, still had wayyyyy more outdoor kick some alien @ss parts than halo 2. Halo 2 felt way more confined and pushy in a linear direction like Half Life. halo 1 felt more like "here is an area to fight in. KILL! Move on to next area." Halo 2, "kill in hallway, run stuff over, run through small outdoor area, watch marines die, find big area, YAY, repeat." Hunters also felt really really really weak and non vic...
My opinion of the five Items.
1.Hi def DVD players are not necessary for a while. NO winner yet. I just recently finally upgraded to 720p stuff. Whats with this boom of hi def this and hi def that. Soon it will be GET 1000000000000000000080 TRIPLE P DISPLAY FOR THE PS1000000 AND THE XBOX 360360.
2.Playstation 3 is still too over priced. I personally gots me a 360 and like it more than the ps3. Also, I HATE THE PS CONTROLLER!! How can anyone use that and not get cramps. (same for...
you both are right. Windows does require some serious overhead compared to a linux based platform. The playstation also benefits from dedicated hardware and superior levels of optimization (true of all consoles). While we will have to wait for the steam os to see if it is indeed any good, it will not negate the second fact of console optimization.
Can you imagine if pc devs could optimize like the console devs do? Anyway, I find the pc community to be too fragmented. The vari...
