Short answer: No, it depends on the type of game you're playing and Mario games are traditionally light, jump in and play pieces of fun, I can't ever see a reason why the core Mario games at least would need a deep, absorbing storyline.
Games don't need the second analogue though, it's optional. To be honest I'm quite happy with just having an odd on though, it's obviously not that uncomfortable, the only downside to it seems to be it using batteries.
Yeah defintiely a smart move on the grander scheme of things, but it's not fair on me :(

Not at all, it still made the top 30 which is progress for a third party game, just a shame to see it outsold by every other console.
I fully expect 3DS software sales to improve by Christmas with the likes of Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land.
Well it's more than a DS though really isn't it? You wouldn't see games like those available on 3DS on the DS.
Fair enough if you don't like the 3D though, it does have to be in right spot when using it so it can be a pain sometimes, I write for a 3DS website yet barely use the 3D effect, I still think it's a brilliant console regardless though.

Well if any console was "king of Fifa" as you put it, it'd be the 360 seeing as it sold more copies on that console, that's not the point though.
This 3DS has seen a huge improvement since the price cut so it is surprising news to even see the PS2 version out sell the 3DS version.

Also I wouldn't be too sure about the 3DS having more third party games but the point really isn't the number anyway, it's regarding the likes of Metal Gear and other big third party titles that would help sell the machine being delayed until more are sold.

I'm sorry but that just sounds like trolling to me, the 3DS is an impressive piece of kit and that's been shown with games like Revelations and Metal Gear looking as good as they do.
@gaffyh I don't believe for a second that Madworld or any Wii exclusives like that would have sold well on PS3/360. Aside from the fact Madworld was far from great it is also a very niche title that is always gonna struggle, not matter the console, just look at No More Heroes on PS3, ...
Whilst I don't think Kinect could "save" the JRPG I don't see why one shouldn't be made for the device, I imagine it'd be a nice change if it was done well.

I think it's a good idea but for this game in particular it won't really affect sales I think as some already mentioned Mercenaries is just a minigame really.
If they started to do this for proper single player experiences then it'd be really effective (obviously they'd have to allow people using it on the same console start again though otherwise you'd never be able to replay it).

In all honesty the title is there to differentiate as we seem to be the only ones taking note of the graphical downgrade not because we're being negative towards 3DS.

Compared to the PS2 version definitely although it's sadly not as nice as when we first seen it on 3DS.
I think it's because it gives everyone a chance to complain, honestly though, this isn't even news if you ask me.
Even if ZombiU didn't sell well (which I'm fairly sure it did) that'd most likely be down to the stupid rrp and not the Wii U. With Rayman having a more reasonable price though I would have expected it to fly off the shelves, it was most Wii U owners most wanted but now many will completely ignore it because of both the delay and the fact it will launch alongside GTA, etc.
