Gamepad 3D? I don't think so.
The fact the settings state anaglyph, SBS and TNB are the givaway. These are settings for various 3D tv's. All this does is confirm that the WiiU plays AC3 in 3D with compatible tv's. Or all screens via anaglyph.
Under the 3D settings is the option to play on the gamepad itself. There are no pictures of the gamepad running anaglyph pictures. Why not?

Just did it myself, change protocols from imap to pop.

then type your address and password
Hotmail Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.live.com
type your address and password.
TA-DA! Quite smooth, doesn't display all content it finds in emails but works well enough.

You don't have to use 3G..it's not used for gaming. You're capped at 20mb per download. Don't know about U.S but in UK you don't have a contract it's pay as you go.
You only really use 3G for web browsing, messages, uploading scores to servers, downloading lbp levels and GPS.
People have tethered their Vita's to their phones quite successfully for multiplayer on the go.
Tried tethering Vita to phone to see if GPS portions of games would work...
Could be for their phones.
