I understand why people would be happy that Gabe did this, but people still need to get one thing strait:
This Was Not A Case of Censorship!
If some company makes something that is widely offensive (a large group of people have an issue with it) and a separate private company decides not to be involved with it, that is choice. It is an action and a reaction.
Censorship would have been if the ESA, ESRB, or Government came in and said you can...
Just like DarXyde said. A digital storefront like Steam not carrying Hatred is not really censoring. The devs were free to make Hatred, that does notmean anyone has to carry it. :P
Well you know how to throw a birthday bash right!
Sorry for being captain obvious, but if you only own the one console the choice is kind of made for you. Gun to my head, had to pick only one- The Order: 1886.
However, I think it is a bit silly to play one in spite of the other. I plan on enjoying both (in the same way that I never felt the need to pick between Uncharted and Gears of War, or Killzone and Halo... I enjoy all high quality gaming), I hope whatever you all pick up come the end of the year you all enjoy it too! ...
I really hope this is true. The premise of the game has me intrigued, and if it really does leave a UC2 style impression... I can only imagine it will be worth the wait!! :)
Oh absolutely! I should have specified those are my most anticipated "next gen" titles. South Park and Castlevania look sweet!!!
Quite funny, I really loved the 720p quote! Although I am having trouble understanding all the vitriol thrown around on this and other sights. As a primarily single player gamer (and proud owner of all three Gen 8 systems) I am more excited for InFamous than Titanfall, but I am also super hyped for Quantum Break.
All three have great games! In fact my 3 most anticipated games show that:
1-InFamous: Second Son tied with The Order 1886
2- Quantum Break...
Trau,
Good point, I suppose you are right in a way. This is a case of someone at Steam making a moral judgment. Which would.mean Steam is censoring their service, not censoring the game itself, since that still exists.
My post was mostly directed to people who were citing freedom of expression when Valve took the game down. I was trying to illustrate that freedom of expression allows you to make something. It doesn't require that people accept it. :)
