“PS3 is for games”
-That's your opinion, but many are involved in homebrew, some of us cluster multiple PS3s. It's disrespectful at BEST to strip an advertised feature after the purchase. At worst, it's criminal (consumer protection laws). Some relevant reading is just below.

The Sony hardware can access PSN. OtherOS can access most of the Sony hardware.
Do you really believe, in the light of recent events, that PSN is so secure as to be invulnerable to intrustion via OtherOS? The hardwares capable, the rest is software, and those using OtherOS do tend to be rather savvy in that department.
