Author here. Now that you mention it, it is slightly dumb. Oh well, too late to change it.
Author here. Give me your hatred.
Yeah, but the expansions were, plus it was most relevant during the last generation. I admit it's a gray area, but you cannot ignore the impact WoW has had on gaming.
World of Warcraft is on a few people's lists, but I struggled with the same question. It came out in 2004, but I feel like it has been more relevant to THIS generation. So you'll see it on my list too.
No one's list has Marathon on it, other than mine. It is hard not to reply to everyone and shout "MARATHON" a lot. Or hell, Pathways Into Darkness, which released before most of you were born.
I had a Mac. We never had CounterStrike. But also, Marathon was better than anything at the time.
I'm the reviewer here. I actually had no idea what I was going to give this as a score, even though I had the whole review planned out in my mind.
In my perspective, severe bugs (crashes, file wipes) are indication of a non-functioning product. These kind of games get the lowest score.
The problem is, Battlefield 4 is really fun. It's an awesome multiplayer experience. I can't deny that.
So how do I resolve these two things? I wen...
At E3, CD Projekt Red got us beer. When their demo crashed, we got more beer.
There's a very good chance The Arkhams will be freed of their GFWL shackles. Dirt 2... maybe not.
I also know there are going to be some games that never get it removed; I think they're just going to stop working. Ultra Street Fighter 4 will run on Steamworks, so I guess Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition will just be left to rot.
Well, you get the chance to earn the same acheievements over again, but this time they're Steam Acheivements!
I know you're getting downvoted, but part of me agrees with you. I remember getting Halo 2 and Shadowrun for PC, and earning achievement points was like pretending I had an Xbox 360. A year later I got a 360, though.
The second game is probably going to be Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet. I believe they've been chomping at the bit to remove GFWL, but couldn't due to contracts and whatnot.
I like to think I put Xenoblade on this list to be different. But damn if the music in that game isn't top-notch.
I will tell Chris you hate him.
One of the reasons I wanted to do this review is because I saw Polygon's 6/10, and shouted out loud "That's bullshit!" I had ONLY played the multiplayer beta at that point, and 5 minutes at E3, but it was already 8 or 9.
I actually struggled between 8 and 9 for my score (We don't go half points), but I couldn't stop talking about it to anyone that listened, and personal enthusiasm does factor into review scores on our site.
Did you actually finish the final battle?
