Actually it is a smart move. Almost all the big developers are complaining and angry about second hand sales, they are losing money. If Sony is the one that does it, many companies will side with them, and make it more exclusive to them. Why? They know they will make more money because people can't second hand buy their product.

With so many devs trying to figure out how to stop second hand sales, they would applaud and support Sony for this if it is the case. And I'...

Guys it is MGS Ground Zero. Moby Games Studio=MGS. The CEO's name if you re-jumble it spells Hideo Kojima. You can see Volgin's battle suit as someone else mentioned. The Phantom part was said in Ground Zeroes trailer about "two phantoms were born".

It's MGS Ground Zero, Hideo is a sly guy like that. Can't wait though.

I think this is a game made for gamers that actually like challenge, and don't have the ADD/desire to shoot something every five seconds. The reviewers that like this seem to be the ones that hate crap like RE6 and the ones that hate ZombiU seem to have liked RE6 a little better.

Mixed game for sure, but I think it's made for those that like an actual challenge, and use strategy over just firing again and again.

Agreed when it was Gamespot TV it was just a beacon of great journalism. I remember I would cling to every word he said. Though not always agreeing with him, he just was a great journalist. G4 has been a joke since it's inception and I've always been sad to see him surround himself with many of them there.

I have always respected Adam. He was the only last good thing at G4, though after a while I think it started to wear on him. But I remember watching him when it was Gamespot TV back in the late 90's. He's someone who is usually very unbiased, and has a true love for video gaming.

I really hope he goes on to continue to review but away from the atrocity that is G4, it's not for gamers, its for....hell I have no idea. But he was one of the few true gamers to work t...

Great article, and I agree with it. I currently am getting my MBA and discussed with a professor about my concerns of over saturation in the gaming market, and how the casual gamers were not all 100% sustainable customers, and that too many companies like Activision are relying almost 95% on their dollar. I also one time told him, that sooner or later a lot of these casual gamers that still play games, will want more challenging games, with more skill required, and not the super easy games of...

Ya the Mass Effect universe is great, but Star Trek is one of the best. Trek was not just about the adventures, it was about a philosophy, and that is one of its enduring aspects. Is what human potential can be, and hopes that we can better our selves and become like the Federation.

Ya that's what makes a collectors edition a collectors edition, unlike Halo/COD where there are billions of copies, some are actually suppose to be rare.

Clint's score is worth the extra 20 bucks to me but there is a lot of great things. Glad I pre-ordered mine last year.

To the Daredevil. That is untrue. X-Com UFO Defense (the first one) had a good port to the PSX, and I believe some of the others did as well. So no they have not always been PC only, the first one was multi-plat.

And to all the others...Star Wars Battlefront? That is not old-school in the least. It came out in 2004, that's hardly old school. While X-Com came out in late 93.

The first one was one of my all time favorite games, it actually had one of the mo...

I agree, the problem is nothing about changing. The Japanese game developers are changing, but in the wrong direction. They keep trying to mimic and copy western style games because they think that will make them more money. We have enough western style games, that is what attracted me to so many JRPG's back in the day, like FFIV-FFX were amazing. But then XI, XII, XIII, XIV all have tried to be like other western games, dumbing things down, making it way too easy. Square is a perfect exa...

Well ya but the problem is some elitist nerds actually think they are always right, and most the time, they spew out retarded dribble themselves. Some act as if opinions are facts, that is what this girl is saying I believe. And I've seen the know-it-alls that really don't know shit, they just believe they do.

That is a common trait in the nerd community. They think they are really really intelligent, but most of the time they are is arrogant as many other people out ...

Though the article claims Daikatana used the Quake 3 engine, that is completely false. They used the Quake, and Quake II engine, and that was it. Though I agree of it being a terrible game. It was, and I bet Romero still wishes he was with id software.

It's clear you never played Deus Ex. Because there were stats, ones that you controlled that could change one character from another. Cute that you think other wise.

Yea TFXR you have no idea what you are talking about at all. There is way more then light RPG elements. And actually you can get through most of the game not firing a round.

Clearly you don't know what an RPG is. Solidus is completely right.

Yea this. It is one of the best games out there. That and System Shock 2, another one many have not played. BioShock is meh, but Deus Ex and System Shock 1&2 are classics.

But....it really is an RPG, yea it's First Person, and you can shoot people, but you don't have to. The core of Deus Ex is an RPG, not a shooter. Just because there is no swords and daggers does not mean its not an RPG.

I actually played SC: Ghost when I attended E3 2003 (the only one I have ever gone to) and I still want that game to be out. It was like MGS meets SC. I'm hoping they make it for next gen consoles. It was a great idea, I just think they need to start again from scratch.

5227d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yea that is with all of their consoles. PSOne had a 10 year lifecycle, they stopped production about a decade after its release, and same with the PS2. Their life cycles are 10 years you can still buy PS2's, however that does not mean they don't create their next gen in 5-6 years after launch.

Great to hear can't believe it's been 11 years since I played the original. Feeling old.

However, I agree with many of the sentiments here, it is sad that so many games now are 6-10 hours long anymore and people are fine with that. Reviewers just eat it up don't say anything about it so the devs keep taking the lazy way out and making extremely short SP games.

Games like the original HL took 20 hours and had great MP as well. Now your lucky to g...

I remember going to the store and getting the original Metroid, and I still remember getting the first Monkey Island.

Don't feel too old lol.

Yea 98 all around was a great year for gaming. Some PC games I would also agree with

Unreal
Half-Life (still one of the best games ever up there with the original MGS for me)
Grim Fandango (great Adventure too bad they don't make games like this anymore Manny was the man....or skeleton)
Heretic II (underrated great 3rd person game by Raven)
StarCraft (one of my all time favs with Half-Life played it forever)
Rainbow Six (Lead to gam...
