Well that's why the pc crowd wants those exclusives because its not all bad on the console. A few exclusives, an affordable pricetag and the online community keep it relevant compared to pc. However, paid online, low hardware specs, outages for paid service, lack of expandability, limited consumer control, digital library not reflecting current market value and other reasons can make the console option inferior compared to pc
And it was a great era... and exclusives dont make the industry different the ps and xbox are very identical minus exclusives and performance. Like i said id rather have manufacturers compete at the console lvl and make the hardware innovative instead of banking on sales based on what games it offers... I think without exclusives then you would get better features on consoles and better hardware or peripherals. As the "1%" who has all the consoles to play all the great games it gets really annoying to pay all this money for a console to play one or two good exclusives a year.
