both true. dlc is idiotic - i'd rather have expansion packs, but either way i rarely buy the dlc until i have fully completed a game and still want more. the wait is irrelevant with a game as big as skyrim, and it is going to take a lot (as in a really, really significant DLC pack as big as broken steel or shivering isles) to get me to buy it when there is little to no chance i will get bored playing the massive main game over and over with different characters.
with the new engine, they have been able to develop and test for all 3 systems simultaneously. the general stability and suitability of the new engine for the game, and the quality of their new tools, means that they can make a more stable game from the beginning and see it working on all the systems as they go through development. it's not gamebryo, which was more of a development kit than an engine, and wasn't really meant for fully functional games. thus to get their games to work ...

also, battlefield 3 has double the pre-orders on 360 than PS3. much like most games. http://www.vgchartz.com/pre... and where are the ps3 exclusives on the chart? ok, let's get over it everyone, 360 publishers sell more games, make more money, and 360 is a more successful platform. it's cool. i think we still enjoy playing games, after all.

the amount of gears of war 3 pre-orders is much higher than all of those PS3 exclusive pre-orders added up. clearly, a lot more people playing 360 are interested in buying Skyrim (or games in general, based on every multiplatform) than PS3 owners.
I was definitely going commando on September 20th. Not entirely proud of that though, as I needed to do laundry.
