Cut scenes =/= graphics for consoles.
"Luna's wistful longing, her questions about destiny, Alex watching from the deck. It was one of my favorite moments on the Sega CD"
Except for the fact that Luna stays behind on the Sega CD version and there is no (big) cut scene. -.- The boat scene is rather bad frankly compared to the others in Lunar.
If you want great Lunar cut scenes tho, look at the Sega CD version of Lunar: Eternal Blue. Can hardly be beat then or now. Lunar used tech to ...
It could do HD on a TV then...
Software companies and gamers need to expect less in terms of graphics from games. Enslaved's game mechanics are boring, translate it to N64 or Gamecube graphics and you got very little. Games would be cheaper, you'd get better gameplay, and more ability to explore new ideas.
very nice use of space.
Best art I've seen in awhile.
I noticed SC2 is only a license to play as well. If these games start doing that, I'm not going to be buying nearly as many games. A license means nothing was really traded between the software company and the purchaser, you're just "allowed" to use the software.
One of the problems are the new gamers. They don't have a very developed pallet for games. You have companies that capitalize on that, make crappy games, and people think that is the new standard to attain to. Like Burger King or whatever. Japan has so much talent but like he said, they lose focus and do a half-assed emulation of what an American gaming company would do. So that games will suck. They need to go full force into their own ideas and try to lead game design. Different style...
oh man, would love to see an mmorpg on ps3 using move. Have the casters actually control fire like that zomg...
It does seem like software companies are getting more greedy. And that greed is probably responsible for the decreased quality overall of games. In the past it seemed like games were put before money.
If you don't think used game sales translate in the slightest to new games sales... What would happen if a large segment of the population, nongamers, on a whim decided to buy every single used copy of a particular game. You think that large sway in demand would miraculously *not* influence new game sales? Duh, it would. Now whether or not it's 5 million people or 1 person, it's just a matter of the degree of impact. Myth: Squashed.
People that state that used games sales don't translate into *any* profits for a software company fail at economics. Anytime an individual limits supply of an item by buying it, the price for the item increases. The benefit gained buying used vs new is different for everyone. If the difference is $5 between new and used, some people will just buy new, if $4 difference, more will buy new. By buying used, you drive up prices of used games so they closer match what a new game costs, so y...
By dual GPU, I'm sure they mean dual core GPU. Someone earlier said dual is cheaper than single, what MS could be doing is using older tech to achieve the dual core, which would be more cost effective and powerful than a single newer card.
