Sure any list is highly subjective, but No Sega IP at all? (Not counting Atlus) No Phantasy Star, Sonic, Streets of Rage, Shining Force, Golden Axe, Yakuza, Gunstar Heroes, Skies of Arcadia? There's some fantastic games on that list don't get me wrong, but their own rules mentioning impact on launch versus how well it still holds up today makes it seem weird not a single Sega IP made the list.

@AK91
No, you are misinformed, Crash was created by Naughty Dog for Universal, much the same as Spyro was created by Insomniac for Universal. Neither was first party at the time and were working for Universal on contract, hence why Universal owns and has always owned the IP. Sony was the exclusive publisher in a three game deal for each title at the time. Once the publishing deal ended so did the exclusivity. Sony never "owned" either IP at any stage.

Since both have 'always' been owned by Activision. But totally agree, would love to see them both in Smash, they could have some pretty unique moves compared to the rest of the roster that's for sure.

While I imagine most are looking forward to the next new title, I'm hoping this success helps fund that Ys V remake that's been on the back burner for a while. Would be great to finally have an official western release for that one!

While the way they remade FFVII works well with it being an early 3D PSX era game, I personally think the Octopath Traveller Engine would make a stunning base for a FFV or FFVI Remake.

Considering the Switch recently got FFVII, VIII, IX, X/X-2, XII etc, and those same titles also got PS4/PC releases, I'm still kinda confused as to why Square hasn't done a FF I-VI Classic Collection. Would love to see not only the original versions, but the GBA/DS and PSP versions in the set too. That way you could choose your favourite way to experience them, original, tweaked sprites with the revised script and extra dungeons, the beautiful PSP sprite work with the GBA script, PSX ...

The fact that there are people out there that need to be told how to use a safe when clear clues and instructions are given to do so in the game itself is in itself the most worrying thing about this post, and that it's made the top visited posts list.

While I realise that it's Dragonball "Z" Kakarot, it would have been neat to have his whole life so far play out, going through Dragonball too, the nods to the original series are nice tho. I wonder what the season pass DLC will end up being, more characters to play with, or added content from the Z movie series etc.

It doesn't matter where in the world it was first released, fact stands it was out and available to play in 2009. Just because you personally can't read it or understand it doesn't mean it hasn't been released. Was it officially first released in 2009, yes it was, point still stands.

Technically it came out in Dec 2009, so not only does it fail at being a decent Final Fantasy, but it fails at being a trilogy released within the decade. Therefore your opinion piece is made moot. Sorry. *shrug*

While he is welcome to an opinion, as is everyone, and has valid points about the gameplay, and the games overall lack of difficulty even on Proud Mode. I feel his obvious personal dislike for Organization XIII (the main antagonists for the entire series, first introduced in Chain of Memories, spanning at least seven games and also present in everyone's beloved Kingdom Hearts 2) seems a little off the mark.

His comments on the story also bring his review down, it sounds...

According to the NPD it looks like it outsold the PS4 in the US territory in 2018 as a whole too, if the latest news is to be believed. Seems all the PS4 outsold Switch for the year anyway so it doesn't matter type comments from users were a little premature.

Wake the fans when that C&C Remaster gets some more news. This isn't C&C.

I'm gunna go out on a limb and assume it was licencing that put the nail in the coffin for some of those games perhaps. Perhaps those were some more games they wanted on there but couldn't make an attractive enough deal with the owners of said games. It is still odd 1st party titles like Legend of Dragoon weren't on there tho.

Seems the Japanese release is getting a music CD and some character sheets and a physical manual too..as well as having their own reversible cover based on the original Japanese covers for the Mega Drive games. As much as I would pay extra for a bigger special physical edition I think what they have announced is all we are getting sadly :/

Well your in luck as there are new stages and new bosses too in the Encore Mode. There are screen shots from Famitsu showing Angel Island Zone, Bad Future Stardust Speedway, a version of Green Hill looking like Sunset Hill. Heavy Magician seems to still be alive and has the Phantom Ruby, Mighty & Ray shots show story cutscenes and that leaked patch had a new Metal Sonic boss phase in his fight. So it seems there is a lot more to Plus than Sega is advertising in the trailer for some reason...

At least your not in NZ, we get whatever you guys don't allocate it feels like. Some editions we don't even get a chance to order as the AU/NZ suppliers sell out stock there before we even get a chance to order here. Case in point I haven't seen this edition at all anywhere over here. Even the day the announcement was made and everyone was putting it up on their sites for order.

People generally hate NEW Sonic friends. Say that they should be utilizing what they have better rather than making new characters to fill roles existing ones could. These aren't new, they are both from the early 90's games, fit well with the classic era and haven't been used in 20 years or more. Way I see it they are finally listening.

These Legacy Collections confuse me, we had a complete classic collection years earlier on systems with smaller media capacity and it had remix music and artwork, bonus spin-off games etc. The previous X collection was missing X7 and X8 but with today's media there's no reason these can't be in one set each.

The initial release with it's push on restoration and museum modes etc was good marketing and substantial enough reasoning. But Legacy Collection 2 didn...

This isn't a new thing, the Vita used to have port begging on almost every new game announcement article during it's time. Clearly Switch is popular and there's a vocal user base for it much like the Vita had. Sometimes the vocal crowd do have a point, especially if it's a title that seems to suit the system and should be a no brainer, like the Megaman Legacy Collection for example, which had a lot of port begging (which has since had a port announced), other times tho they do...
