I will have to say FFX, I really LOVED that game. About 60hrs into it I couldn't, literally couldn't continue, I was completely stuck due to my speccing.
I must confess that I had put a lot of effort into speccing my go to characters so they were perfect.
What I didn't care about at all was how I specced the party members that I didn't care for as much, and there was a certain part in the story that I did not have access to the characters that I'd specce...
This is really a tough choice as I enjoy a lot of different genres.
I'm going to say mmorpg's since I have very fond memories of games in the genre.
It's something special about different zones having different themes but still belonging to the same world and main story.
I also enjoy having character progression and a lot of different skills in games.
