He is still there.
They are already selling the rift at a loss.

Someone in another thread mentioned VR Minecraft. I definitely could see Microsoft using minecraft for their console to drive their VR device whenever it hits the xbox one.
Dk2 is running at 75 hz @ 1080p. Consummer version is supposed to be 90+ and 1440p. Stereo rendering and the warping is a hog on performance as well.
Although I agree palmer wouldn't say anything else, my PC grinds hard on some of the demos with the DK2. He does speak the truth though. Morpheus will be good, but it won't hold a candle to the rift in 5 years. Oculus uses a video card that costs almost twice as much as the ps4 to run their demos.

Nice, I have Assetto Corsa, Eurotruck 2, DCS and a few others. I placed my order at 8:27am. My CC has been charged and order has been changed to processing, so I should ship in the first batch.
Woohoo... I'm in the first batch. I'm pumped! Just bought a g27 and built a Sim pit out of a car seat and 2x4s.
I was gutted yesterday with this news. Two rifts devkit 2s ordered. I'm trying to see the positives to this. I think that it is in the best interest to help propel vr into mass adoption.
Oculus will be able to push a better device for a cheaper price, with more software to market. They have access to incredible resources now. In the short term I can see it as a benefit to vr. It makes me sick tho to think that one day I may have to launch all my vr content through some sort ...
I'm more excited about the new genres that come from this rather then getting the existing ones to work for it.
Ok, I am pretty excited about a good vr racing game, and a helicopter simulator.....
sony has won my first chunk of money. well played sony.
microsoft will have the second... and probably sooner then later.
Win for me.
Its serious stuff. Glad he realized it and can now share his experience. Denial can be a bitch.
Agree 100%. New consoles are great and all but this is what i'm truly excited for. My dev-kit should be here within the next 2-3 weeks. Been waiting since January.
DRM issues aside, I think the press conference was good.
I bought a ps3 a year ago. Grab uncharted, god of war, infamous and heavy rain from the used games bin. So cheap... and sooooo goood.
I was in heaven for a good period of time after I picked up my ps3.
Edit.. where the hell did all my bubbles come from. I've been rocking 3 bubbles for ever!
I hope it stays free as well... But they have a great product with the ps4 and I don't think gamers will leave them if they do charge to play online. Are they gonna turn to the Wii U? or the xbox one?
Say they get a 5 -10 million subscribers in the first year.... for every dollar they charge for online they are making 10's of millions in profit. It is simple math.
I agree. People are over reacting. The features of the xbox one shown so far may be trivial to some but will appeal to a large audience.
I'm praying that on June 10th microsoft will shine in the gaming department. Then I will be more open to the bashing of the xbox one if they fail to deliver.
I'll be buying a ps4, I just want a good reason to buy the xbox as well.
You can still use your controller
It will play all third party games just as well as the ps4.
They have 15 exclusive titles coming and 8 are new ips. I think its a little to early to say microsoft has given up on the gaming industry.
Agreed, I have a feeling that VR was intended for the next iteration of their console but with Oculus and Valve getting the ball rolling at little earlier they needed landed with the solution the have now. Which apparently works really good. If they were to release a new camera/ tracking system with what they currently have it would of jacked the prices up.

VR is totally in its infancy. Michael Abrash's perdiction for the next 5 years is very exciting.
