I actually did wind up paying some fee for the game some 15 years later when I went back to get a library card. I thought they would forget. The library NEVER forgets.
But I agree, it was bastardly.
According to the title the industry is dying. According to the 1st sentence of the article it is thriving...
Yes a smaller subset of longtime gamers are becoming growingly dissatisfied with the overall offering. It's mostly a function of industry growth. It suits developers to reach a broader audience. The more complicated a product the less people understand/appreciate it. See popular music for good comparison.
Shining Force
Armored Core
Maybe Jet Moto
Maybe I'm not disappointed that this isn't available in the US then. I haven't played any of the DLC yet but just assumed bugs would have been worked out by now. That's pretty sad if it is still broken.
I'd be surprised if the $ from Microsoft for exclusivity really outweighs lost sales due to bad PR with the other 2 million+ users.
Oh well, at least it will be somewhat new to me again by the time DLC is released for other platforms.
It might be a good moral decision for the player to have to make, kind of compounding Stormcloak/imperial decision. Choose to fight against a new Snow Elf uprising, or side with them forcing you to fight against the Empire or Stormloaks that you had sided wit previously.
I just hope they follow through on the talk of the DLC containing a lot of new content versus several small DLC packs.
Neither does Sony really. SB had something like 35 characters the last time around. There's no way Sony or Microsoft would offer a roster that big without dipping into some multiplatform characters.
It really was a stupid thing for the guards to say. It caught on partially because it's ridiculous.
That said I can't really complain about it being dumb because we made a video based on this and the curved swords thing...
Oh yeah...bump Quality blogging/journalism off of the list.

Funny how these were marketed as a limited edition thing
It's a given that they'd make a crap ton of money, but guaranteed sales mean little incentive to actually produce a great game.
If they remake it, It would almost certainly be a disappointment.
Try something new. Lot's of promising non-sequels coming out this year.
Someone should write an article about pie...
Exactly. The approval process for the console updates is definitely a big part of why PS3 and Xbox users have to wait so long. If Bethesda is going to release a patch they want to take the time to try and cover all issues so as to keep the number of submissions to a minimum.
Does peak functionality just mean graphic performance? The article says nothing about graphic quality. Visuals were the most important part of a game when I was 12 too.
Not arguing which is best visually, but you're able to get more out of the game on a PC.
5th gen there were 5 consoles. 6th gen there were 4. this gen there are 3...if Apple does jump in expect something radically different and very pricey.
Creating a list type article is a pretty sure way to get an entry approved on this site, but this just seems desperate.
Skyrim's combat is very simple, and I was disappointed in the number of acquirable skills to add to your repertoire. That said, Kingdoms' combat looks cartoonish, and over the top. To me that kind of gameplay gets boring much faster.
Agree. I imagine if The Show had come up with this gimmick 1st that 2k would have ceased to be.
It's definitely inconsistent with the mindset they seemed to have leading up to and shortly following Skyrim's release. It was all about the PC audience then.
