Yeah it seemed trouble and arcades went hand in hand. The bit about the undercover Chicken Hawk is true. My fathers friend in the police academy supposedly looked very young. So the Police dept sent him to the arcades with a stack of quarters in hope of flushing out child predators. Being paid to play vido games lol
When Playland closed down in the mid 90', the new spot was the Chinatown Fair. There was always fights (gang related mostly) even some stabbings. Then one da...
I thought I was a big shot winning my bid for Project Justice on the Dreamcast...
A forever alone type it would seem.
Sort of surprising that in a fighting game a boxer (Little Mac hasn't shown up yet.
In high school we all knew a kid who sold his Everquest account to some Canadian for 25k. Then he dropped out of school. Everyone thought he was cool.
I would say the curse is the back problems she'll inevitably get from that chest of hers.
I suppose so. But you never know, Ni No Kuni or Remember Me may pull an upset =p
Hey everyone hope you like this piece. The attached video while rather long, is the only video footage I can find of the Playland arcade in Times Square. Skip ahead to the 1:14 mark to get a sense of what the place looked like!
Just got my vote in, anxious to see the results!
I'm the wrong person to probably say this BUT a while back I had watched a documentary that dealt with pixels and gaming in the early 90's. The jist was the way these models (in general) were created was the artists used some sort of technique where they would space out the pixels just enough and your eyes would fill in the gaps giving the allusion of more detail.
With the addition of scanlines which helped the pixelated figures you were presented with a visually app...
I'm glad the pro controller has become a standard now. I dont want to play a Zelda game with a motion controller I found it annoying on the Wii. I'm viewing the tablet in the same regards. Without question that tablet is a big chunk of the Wii U's price tag, release a version without one that is cheaper.
I used to be such a big Nintendo enthusiast growing up. Supported all of their consoles, burned by the Wii as I didn't like motion controls. it's a conundrum of sorts because I do want to pick one up but I dont want to be burned again in the form of Nintendo releasing something new 2-3 years down the road. Their track record for supporting older hardware once something new comes out isn't all that great.
I loved this game! Choosing a multi national squad each with their strengths and weaknesses was really cool. While the voice recognition was a novelty that wore off a little quick it was still a nice addition. In fact the only weakness the game had imo was it's box art. In fact its the only game I have where I opted for a custom cover over the standard one.
A lot of hate and fake apathy in these comments. This game looks sweet!
Ha never thought I'd see a top Penguin list lol
Same here. I'm excited because I'm from this part of NYC where the game takes place. If the devs stay true to the real street layouts of my neighborhood thats going to be awesome!
Since its WaterMelon it means an inevitable Dreamcast release =p
I never liked the chain VG stores. Here in Manhattan there is a place called J& L Game Trading. 9/10 they are below MSRP and allowing haggling. Try asking for 5 bucks off a title at Gamestop and they'll point you to the used version lol. More than that though they keep retro games in stock and the guys who work there just like talking games without the awkward any titles you want to pre order today? If you have a local VG store support it!
"All right, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the Corps! A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal's a banquet! Every paycheck a fortune! Every formation a parade! I LOVE the Corps!"
*Fingers crossed this game turns out to be good*
Thanks glad you enjoyed it!
