Oh I agree, I love PGR and prefer it to that of GT or Forza, but when Forza hit the 360 PGR just slowed to a crawl and PGR 4 wasn't really that good a game in comparison to 3 (IMO) nor did the cars handle as well as they did in Forza. It was a title in limbo, which is what led to Microsof axing Bizarre. It's why I'm a little wary of believing they'll just dreg it back up so casually after years of hearing nothing from it.
While Evolution definitely has the talent for a racing title, and is actually rumoured to be taking over the WipEout licence since Studio Liverpool closed, I can't see Microsoft reviving PGR for their next gen console.
They sold off Bizarre because sales of PGR 4 were down and they just really didn't need two racers running alongside each other. It wouldn't surprise me if they were going to make something truly new, but calling it Project Gotham Racing 5 (or whate...
This isn't an ultimate list, its just six titles. There are tons that could have been there. Uncharted 2's opening is hella powerful way to start a game too. Personally HL2's opening is far superior to HL1's where you sit for ages on a train into Black Mesa doing little to nothing, then you go about your daily working day. It's smart, but it doesn't have as big an impact on you as the destroyed lives of all those affected by your actions.
I was really pretty interested in this, not sure why though as I've never been a big fan of Professor Layton and I've only ever played a single Ace Attorney game. Still, it seemed like a really good idea for a crossover title - that wasn't yet another beat-em-up. Nice to see it's landed a decent score from PocketGamer too!
I'd so take part if I had an iOS device.
I can't wait for this. I've been a big Sly Cooper fan for a while now and it plays brilliantly on PS3, so I'm hoping the Vita version is as tasty.
It's pretty cheap to upgrade a harddrive to something that doesn't matter, but as I have Ni No Kuni it's only 4.5gb install from the disk, which is pretty standard for a PS3 game now.
I'm not 1005 sold on it being the definitive box, but having looked at the Modular chasis that Xi3 say their Valve partnership is housed inside, it's quite possible that it really could be.
Sega games are good as a whole, but the fools who slag them off are the same fools who slag Nintendo off too.
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing was utter pap though, so it wasn't too hard to believe that the sequel would be much better. Although other reviewers out there don't think it's utterly amazing, but that's the point of differing reviews.
I've got both, pay for both, don't mind it either. I wouldn't stop paying for Live as I want to play my 360 games online with my friends. It's just what was once an attractive proposition and market has become terribly outdated in comparison to the competition. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a huge reinvention of the service next-generation.
The title did its job of hooking you in though. Give the article a read before you judge. Well made points.

I really enjoyed it - as the review says - and I agree, I'm looking forward to Diggs Nightcrawler and Walking With Dinosaurs. Hopefully the Disney books do well too. Disney potentially means Marvel and Star Wars stuff too. Can't wait.
Yeah with the direction change they have no real need to support the game. Hopefully Activision will do something properly with Declassified. It did only have a five - six month development window though as Nihilistic didn't begin work on it until Burning Skies had finished.
Nihilisic aren't a shit developer, an average of 61/100 doesn't make them shit, it actually makes them above average - and thus well above being shit. They just have an unfortunate time with d...
I'm pretty sure that the reviewer isn't miffed at having to spend the money on purchasing the game for review as the cost will be covered by PG I'm sure. Yes he's miffed that Activision's PR didn't get a copy out to him, but that clearly hasn't changed how he thought of the game, just provided an insight to how Activision view their own product.
Also, there's plenty of reports on Twitter of people finishing it all in 45 minutes or so.
I imagined it was going to be bad but damn this sounds like a really rather broken game. At least the online is good when it wants to work... if you can say that's a positive thing.
You can understand why Nihilistic announced that they'd be stopping with console development, changing their name to NStigate and instead focus on the mobile market. I think they know they've released too stinkers in a short space of time.
Oh yeah totally. I'm not expecting any game to ship as perfect. I have no issue with patching a game post-release, especailly as day one patches are actually - in some cases - a month since the game was finished.
But my problem does come when a game is released basically not finished, so the patch can 'finish' it. Thus utilising the time between finishing up the final code and it releasing in stores to finish the game and get it out quicker.
They...
Really nice piece. I completely agree about how they are generally a bad idea as it means that game development is no longer a finished process. It's also detrimental to the game when you're handed a review copy and it's before release and the patch so you're essentially reviewing a broken game. You have the knowledge that a day one patch should fix these issues, but a finished game shouldn't ship unfinished.
Completely agree with you Joe! I can't for a second understand why people berate the system other than its high price point compared to others. I love my Vita and the list of games you reeled off are some of my favourite this year. Thanks to PS Mobile arriving, Vita's offering of bitesize fun alongside longer sessions is great and it's all about playing your PS One games on the go. Sony just need to make more of a fuss about how powerful the device is instead of the touchscreen ji...
If they managed to bring out something like this http://vt.tumblr.com/tumblr... or this http://vt.tumblr.com/tumblr... then I'd be happy with a Blur 2 sequel.
