They had a second-party deal with Microsoft for Alan Wake and Quantum Break. After Quantum Break they went forward with Control which was published multi-plat by 505Gamee.
They did not 'build the game for Rockstar'.
Sam Lake and Remedy created the Max Payne ip which was then sold at a later date to Rockstar.
I remember when the PS3 lainched at $600. That was a REAL kicker.
The typical uninformed consumer will definitely look at this and say "why not that one has more." Think grandparents and out of touch moms and dads. Not every day gamers.
Yes proprietary storage sucks, but at least I have a guarantee.
Xbox offers 'memory cards' most likely at launch
Sony offers 'you can buy some SSD's that aren't on market yet, they might work'
Looking at it Xbox memory cards a...
I agree whole-heartedly with the first half of your statement; however, when it comes down to price point its very likely the consoles will be the same price.
And yes, Sony has strong first party content, but their 3 strongest studios(SSM, ND and now Insomniac) have just released games in the last two years(LoU2 coming soon) and will likely take another couple years for follow up titles. Godfall is the only launch title we know of for PS5, and that's a second-party ti...
Do they have any other VR exclusive studios? This worries me that PSVR will not be making it into next gen.
My belief for the Game Awards reveal is that they wanted to get ahead of the "what the hell is with that name and design" controversy that was sure to follow.
They showed of the console and its name in December. People joke and meme and get comfortable with the look.
Then in early 2020 they nail in the specs, launch titles, controller, Game Pass, xCloud and everything else. That way people aren't talking about the design, but instead about the services and feat...
A few things about Halo.
Halo: Combat Evolved was the highest rated game in it's release year of 2001, beating out GTA 3. This critical acclaim set the series up for success. The next year it was in the top ten grossing games of the year.
2004, Halo 2 releases and is the second highest grossing game that year behind only San Andreas, and the second highest rated game ABOVE San Andreas, but behind (of course) Half-Life 2.
And then in...
VR is still hasn't grasped my attention. Too many of the games either feel incomplete or like test demos. Farpoint and Bravo Team are supposed to be some of the best PSVR games out there and they're terrible in quality when compared to whats going on with games outside of the headset.
N4G users have such a heavy PlayStation bias its unreal.
Microsoft could come out next month and reveal 13 blockbuster exclusives launching day 1 for Series X and it will be the same shit in the comments. "Xbox won't have games all generation hyuck." "LoU3 will be better than anything MS has!"
Give me a break. So far Microsoft has announced more launch titles than Sony has. Even if it is only 1. 1 is more than 0. And Sony is blow...
