I hate silent protagonists. If the game has any sort of competent writers, the lead character needs to have a voice. Well, at least these days.
Really looking forward to trying this game, and I'm not even a big fan of stealth action. It just looks really fun, anyway.
I'm not really into music games, but this does seem like a much better idea than Guitar Hero 27 or whatever. The only issue I have is that, out of the preview vids, I've disliked every mix that I've heard so far. I do enjoy a good DJ mix, too. Perhaps I've just seen the wrong preview videos. Either way, good preview.
I agree with most of this, but Wii Fit certainly is a game. You can unlock content by doing well, and you can try to beat your old high scores in many events. How is that not a game?
While I accept that these are things that some people would like included, I'm glad they don't include them. Perhaps as an optional package deal, but not something mandatory.
I kinda wish this was a console only list, seeing as that's where the real achievements in user content are made. PC just makes things too simple. Still, it is a good list.
I feel Halo 3: ODST will be a really good game, but I still intend to skip it. Other than Firefight, it seems like mostly more of the same. There's too much other stuff coming out soon to pay 60 dollars for a very similar gameplay experience, IMO.
But like I said, I still think it will be a good game.
True, but upsetting Microsoft (or Sony or Nintendo, for that matter) isn't a very good idea for any gaming website.

The game has been finished since MAY, which means it's had plenty of chances to leak out. Heck, I know someone who has been playing a legitimate retail copy for even longer than this reviewer.
Halo is a great game and all, but I have a bad feeling that if I picked this up, it would just end up being another repeat of two years ago. Buy Halo, have fun for a couple of months, Modern Warfare comes out, and I never touch it again.
And soon I'll have Borderlands to keep me busy as well. I think I'm going to skip Halo this year. My next exclusive Microsoft FPS will be Perfect Dark HD for XBLA.
While all of these things are GOOD to have, I've played some really fantastic FPS titles that were lacking most of these. BioShock comes to mind.
Yeah, I agree with pretty much all of these. I especially hate online achievements for games that won't be played online past the first month of release.
I've heard that the blu ray player in the PS3 is still one of the best that you can buy, thanks to firmware updates. That alone is a great reason to pickup a PS3. Throw in exclusives like God of War 3 and Infamous, and you have a great game console.
I can't believe that even one reviewer actually gave Velvet Assassin an 8. These Famitsu articles are always so interesting to read.
Many classical composers wrote pieces that are FAR longer than the minute and a half midi style loops of Mega Man 2, but still managed to compose memorable melodies.

I can see your point that shorter and more repetitious compositions might be more memorable, but as these composers have proven, you can make longer pieces of music and still include a melody that won't...
As much as it might be effective in the game, I just don't find the Halo or Gears soundtracks to be at all memorable. Some people really seem to enjoy thematic film score type music, but I'm not one of them. It's especially jarring having come from game music in the '80s and '90s, which was VERY memorable to me.
Maybe I'm more alone in this feeling than I thought, but I'd like to hear from some more gamers in their late twenties or so, and see if they feel any different. I'm gla...
This article pretty much completely ruins the story of BioShock, and does so without any warning. If you ever plan to play that game, I'd avoid reading this.
Otherwise, it's a pretty good article.
It's crazy to think that SquareEnix will be publishing Modern Warfare 2 in Japan. Anyhow, that was a good read.
As Mark Twain once said, "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics." The point being that numbers can be made to look any way you want them to. While looking at statistics like this is certainly entertaining, it really doesn't matter who has more titles that a specific game site said are good games. All that really matters is what system has the games that you prefer. In the end, both PS3 and 360 are great gaming systems.
This was still a fun...
After the last Perfect Dark game, I'd rather play TimeSplitters 4 than play Perfect Dark Zero 2. :(
