Totally agree with you Json Henry,

While it may not be on the top of the graphical heap, I thought that even the MP Halo3 beta looked much better than Halo2 single player campaign.

The xbox fanbase does have a reason to be excited because while the wii does outsell the 360 in terms of consoles sold, the 360 outsells the wii in terms of software (with the exclusion of 1st party titles by Nintendo, of course). And, since Square-enix is more interested in selling software...it is not so far fetched of an idea.

Let's try and keep the conversation productive and avoid name-calling.

wouldnt competition between the different makers of either the bluray or hddvd players cause the price to drop? rather than competition between the two formats? (i hope that made sense)

for me, this lingering format war has kept me from taking the plunge

Unfortunately, the author doesnt realize that writing a piece like this only furthers the notion that the PS3 is struggling and a bit desperate.

Someone needs to tell him to just be patient for the great games on the horizon and enjoy the games it already offers.

Hey, wtf, I loved my atari jaguar! And the controller for it was AWESOME!

No that's not it, I love Jrpgs and have been playing them long before the PS systems were the jrpg systems (and I will be getting a PS3 to play FF13 and SO4). The problem is that the characters are not just bland, they are annoying, AND the story is extremely slow and uninteresting (even for 8 or 16bit standards). Those are 2 HUGE problems for a jrpg.

Hopefully Eternal Sonata is a better go than this.

I wish I could be so confident, if I knew for 100% fact that blu-ray would win I would buy a PS3 - soley for the fact that it is a movie player (instead of waiting for it to be "the machine that plays FF13 and MGS4).

I guess this would mean i would start saving my pennies for april but patcher is always so wrong. (so maybe the price cut will come sooner!)

woot! I COMPLETELY agree! FF6 for life!

Anyways, if they remake 7 with those amazing graphics, throw in a few extras or tweaks, I would buy a PS3 the day it is released!

Did anyone else think that the characters for the gamecube version were not very balanced? I raise the issue because online play, in my opinion, is the most fun when there is good balance. This is not to say that all the characters should play the same, but that they should have relatively balanced strengths and weaknesses.

sorry, it's been too long and i can't give specific examples from double dash, but werent the smaller/lighter characters always better? like the red shel...

As long as we don't have to sit through advertisements (like a commercial), i dont care if it is tastefully placed in the game. It could add a sense of realism, like having real stores in sandbox-style games.

I have both Bioshock and MP3 (yes, I'm a wii60-er, looking to add the PS3 as soon as it hits $400), currently playing through MP3 as I beat Bioshock last week. The controls on MP3 are fun and different (my first FPS for Wii), but I am dissapointed that the game has taken much more of a linear feel as opposed to the more open ended world the series has been known for. Plus, it hurts it -for me- to be trailing the wonderful experience of Bioshock, which I believe really pushed the boundaries ...

The title of this message is (depressingly) misleading.

Rare's response seems to be an issue of DK fans (of which I am definitely one) wanting a sequel, not Rare.

I, for one, appreciate the color. KZ2's graphics and details are amazing, but so far, most of the screen shots I have seen have been dominated by greys. I remember when the NES and SNES came out, one of the most important stats of systems back then wasn't how many polygons could be displayed or what type of shaders the system utilized, but how many colors the system could display. I guess part of me is still stuck in that era :)

Regardless, it sounds like this shaping up to b...

I'm really looking forward to finally getting my hands on this game, none of us (by "us", I mean N4Gers) really need reviews to know what this game is going to be about :)

Unfortunately, after just beating Bioshock, I feel I need a little break from FPS's (despite the 2 games being so different). I'll probably pick up this and Blue Dragon tommorow (i've been desperate for a jrpg for awhile now-since FFXII actually), and alternate between the two games.

After reading your post I was reminded that something along the lines of "quality over quantity" was Nintendo's big slogan for the N64, if I am not mistaken.
