Haha this exactly!
Example: I could write a dumb program in C or visual basic or something that tells my computer to allocate files from one spot to another on the hard drive and tell it to do that ad infinitum (defragmentation anybody?) and that would take up a very nice big chunk of many of today's PC cpu usage times.
Just as Mhz, Ghz and all those labels is misleading when talking about CPU's and GPU's so too is this power crap.
Valve: Remember when E3 was coming up and we said "No Conference" and you were like
"Nooooooooo waaaaaaaaay!" And then we were all "We pretended we were going to cancel on you?" That was great!
>_> My thoughts at least...
Let me just add that apparently a lot of people probably don't care whether otherOS is around or not as evidenced by: http://share.blog.us.playst...
So we can all speak the vitriolic rhetoric about Sony screwing us over, but unless we vote and actually TELL them, they will probably think that nothing is wrong with pulling moves like this. In fact, current poll results ...
well, your points I generally agree with. But for some it is a big deal.
There are plenty of researchers and engineers out that use the otheros feature to conduct research.
Still, don't you feel bad for the 20% who get screwed by this? I can understand that a lot of people are apathetic because they don't use the feature (I don't either I guess), but for those 20% that's still a pretty low blow...
This turn of events was to be expected based on what has occurred. For those of you who don't know - the ps3 hypervisor got hacked by geohot (see: http://geohotps3.blogspot.c... which is a first step toward the piracy we hear about on the 360 and psp. I personally blame both the Sony and the Hacker who pulled off getting access to the hypervisor.
Really I think it's a complicated issue, because as a business Sony need...

This example pretty much definitively shows why GT5 is amazing.
To be fair, Forza is not bad either... it just won't reach the same level... I don't think.
This is a dumb shouting match between two retarded concepts with people apparently watching with apt rapture...
I'm sure I'll burn in hell for saying this, but if you think this fight between achievements and trophies is interesting, I'm sure you'd probably derive far greater enjoyment watching the special olympics instead.
So yeah, let's let this debate die please?
P.S. I'll also add that the goal directed elements of exploring games in new ways for bot...
Looks pretty cool.
I don't know why, but it feels kinda steampunk to me and based on the footage, it looks like you're a hero sent onto airships/flying weapons or something and you have to break them apart (via a welding team?!?) ?
Should be interesting hearing more about the gameplay.
EDIT: the actual name of the game seems to be
Hyakuman Ton no Barabara
a loose translation is like "1 million tons coming apart"
...
Thanks :)
I can definitely understand your worries though, especially when there are heated arguments in certain other threads ( http://www.n4g.com/NewsCom-... where people are only talking about trivial aspects of graphics for this game and thus missing the big point which you've brought up.
Personally, I agree with your comment that it's about the gameplay and storyline, not nearly as much the graphics.
But, you have to understand that graphics can play a big role in making the gameplay or storyline come alive. So basically what I'm talking about is immersion. Great graphics + great storylines and gameplay make for some of the most immersive (and thus fun) games.
I do think that it can be concluded that this generation may be focusing too much on graphi...
Demonsdown: be careful for what you wish for, oftentimes making something mainstream means generalizing it in different ways. Perhaps by making gameplay simpler, perhaps by changing the language. But in doing so, inevitably it tends to muddle what made the game special and unique in the first place. Perhaps I'm just worrying about nothing, but if the Wii shovelware, or rockband/guitar hero 8 is any indication of mainstream, then I don't think you nor I would want that...
I do agr...
Sigh... 2 wrongs don't make a right. Even if it is "open zone" I would hope people would be more civil on the internet. Maybe that's too much to ask...
I hope xbox owners are demanding that SE include dual audio language options! I don't care if it takes up an extra disk, as consumers we should be demanding for those kinds of options.
EDIT: As a fan of FF it'll be sad if people don't get to experience FF as it was originally formulated. Of course having english language will be nice too.
What's up with the obsession over originality (aka "first" ?)
Sure, maybe Microsoft implemented the particular idea of cross game chat (in this generation of consoles) first, and kudos to them, that's great. But I don't see how that really matters with respect to sony possibly implementing it in the future?
If Sony "hypothetically" came out with the exact same implementation of cross game chat as microsoft then most rational people would say that ...
very nice. Does anyone know if this will have dual language options when it gets released? If not, I'm a bit more understanding since the psp umd's can't store nearly as much data.
I agree with you that the cross game chat feature is probably complicated.
I disagree that the ps3 operating system isn't as well thought out as the xbox one is. I wouldn't say one is better than the other because it'd be comparing apples to oranges. For example, I could play devil's advocate and say that sony had a better operating system because it hasn't been hacked yet. I could play double devil's advocate and say that microsoft had a better operating system because it includ...
I agree with your statement on the agree/disagree system. As the system is right now, it's just a popularity contest, which should not be the purpose of the system. N4G should make it so that if people agree or disagree, they should post a reply and explain why they disagree. The current system makes it too easy for put-downs without any rationale.
I think the bubble system is also rather dumb, as it also appeals to a popularity system, just because something or somebody is popul...
Wow this "fanboy this" , "fanboy that" stuff is pissing me off.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm a gamer and consumer. I'll be judging comments based on their accuracy and content, not on whether the comment comes from so called "xbots" or "sdf". I'm sure that even so called "fanboys" can have very valid points as long as they back themselves up with good sound reasoning, so it's just utterly fallacious to slap a label on som...
Anyone know if ME2 will eventually be making it to the PC?
Looks like it will be awesome though :)
He's a peacock!! Ya gotta let him fly!!
