the irony is that you keep playing it, even though each time you play it, you like it less and less.
unless you like not liking it?
"I have it and the more I play it"
I love the irony of this comment
super great write up. enjoyable to read. It's unfortunate that this entry failed to rejuvenate the series and bring it back to the front of gamerbrains. Then again, maybe they just don't care enough to do so
Hilarious. Like nick cannon hilarious
It's not a good enough argument to say "eh it's multiplayer so who cares about the singleplayer" for two very good reasons:
1) developers and designers spend as much time, if not more, creating a singleplayer experience for people to enjoy, and it is worth something (and that something is not "free")
2) not everyone gets games for multiplayer, and connectivity should NEVER been taken for granted when it comes to players in general. It's...
So Raph Koster basically said what will happen (or is happening, if you're pessimistic) is that the traditional "console wars" of the past and current generation are turning into "platform wars" between big companies like Apple, Facebook, etc. each with their own proprietary APIs and platforms.
This is not really a good thing.
with iOS 5 coming out, Apple had a chance to do things differently, but they never do. I suppose it isn't new, but it certainly affects the industry since the iOS scene in particular is getting bigger and bigger.
What's more, there's a PC release planned too. Woo!
This game has been out forever on the PC and plays beautifully. I can't see how it would be that different on PS3. Was the price simply too high??
It's not much of an accomplishment when the market reaches saturation, which is what happened for the wii, I'm sure
Guhhhh character skins are my least favorite type of DLC. Also, character skins are the most easily overpriced type of DLC. I realize that overpriced is relative.
It's slightly disingenuous for the title to read "VALVE SEZ DIS" when in reality it's the dev of GO that's saying this, who is actually not representative of Valve as a whole, because, as we all know, Valve panders to players too. Also, I agree that iron sights is in no way pandering. It's just a different way of playing a shooting game.
To be fair though, not enough arena type, skill-based, fast-paced team shooters are out there. (Note i'm sayin...
It's true that it's hard to wait for games you really want, but the other part of it is is that there are so many games out there at various price points that you can probably find a cheaper (or older) substitute to hold you over until that price drops.
Even if you can't, patience is a virtue and your wallet will thank you. :)
To be honest, those were lessons that didn't have to be learned the hard way. But, judging from the article, it looks like they DID change the way they're going about it this time, which is great news because I am almost dead on my feet for a PS Vita.
Syndicate as an FPS! To be honest, I loved the original, played Syndicate Wars (bad idea), and I'm STILL stoked for this game. Syndicate is a great idea no matter what flavor it comes in.
why does no one actually READ the whole thing
He's not saying that simply because it's a "down year" that the platforms are ending. It's a "down year" because games that are coming and games that have come have become increasingly banal, our opinions have been saturated, and the people making games for these platforms have run out of ideas. One of the great things about new tech is that they can reignite the creative instinct, which in turn mea...
