This was before the buyout and the estimated 10m sales from Playstation were cut.
I got to 30 and just stared at the startscreen for a few minutes thinking about continuing before uninstalling and cancelling GP.
Phil is the master of throwing out comments like this and doing nothing to back them up.
So true man. I've just been wandering endlessly on each Starfield planet to the border of the tile, going back to orbit, redoing another tile and repeat. Haven't done ANY quests more than the bare minimum, spent over 100h just exploring the tiles and walking so far. A lot of people say this is boring but I think this is what makes it GOTY for me. I'm having fun, who can doubt that?
Game Pass is not profitable.
The methodology of this is absolutely dodgy and deceptive. The date range for sales varies a lot between titles. E.g. Hogwarts Legacy is based on 6 days data, 3 being early access. TOTK is based on 3 days data, no early access. Final Fantasy 16 is based on 4 days data, no early access. Starfield is a whopping 11(!) days, 5 being early access. So they're counting almost 2 weeks of sales against 3 days of others. Chris Dring, author of that article, on Twitter says "Starfield was techn...
Just because people are bad with credit doesn't make credit itself bad. Not hard to understand.
I wonder how well it'll perform compared to the mod. Hopefully a lot because the game is really badly optimised.
76% of 0 sales is still zero Phil...
Nobody listen to this guy. Completely incorrect. Credit is a valuable resource, you should be maximising your credit rating, your lines of credit, and so on. Many people misuse credit cards but you're severely hindering yourself if you're not utilising it throughout your life.
I'm sure that XboxAddict's 10/10 review is perfectly indicative of the quality of the game /s.
I bet Obscure hasn't even played the game. A lot of the big defenders I argue with haven't. Because the flaws are so obvious you KNOW after playing that the game is not a 10. Best example of this is Paradiso quest that begins in orbit, I won't spoil it, but if you've played it you'll realise how flawed the narrative, worldbuilding, and gameplay experience is.
Why didn't they add a FOV or brightness slider? Proper HDR implementation? A good UX/UI? Because they want you to pay full price and have someone else fix it. That less than week from release a modder could implement better inventory UI should have caused one of three options:
1. People to realise BGS is lazy and scamming them.
2. Fire all the people who worked on UI.
3. Pretend you really actually genuinely like the UI and are glad modders can fix it without de...
I've played 35h and 6.5 is me being generous. Game is terrible.
Steam has I think doubled or tripled in size since FO4 launched and this hasn't even surpassed Fallout 4 CCUs. It's a pretty decent underperformance whether you like the game or not. 75% of the users aren't on Steam either, so there is no way to know if they're using Game Pass or not since MS doesn't release sales numbers.
I find it amazing that so much of Starfield defense has reduced down to "there is nothing else like it." NMS exists and does exploration better than Starfield. I can already predict your next response which would be "but NMS isn't as good an RPG as Starfield!" Well sure, but Starfield isn't as good an RPG as BG3, so it's not an argument. Starfield's scope is is most defining feature - in a bad way. This is what most people will remember it by, and judging b...
Yeah the numbers are pretty bad once you dig down into all the metrics. BG3 had one million CCUs almost on Steam alone, and by Phil's Spencer's admission of 1m CCUs (meaning 1:4 Steam to Xbox platform) 75% of the players of the game are on Xbox, where the game is free on Game Pass. So 6m players is not good, because they are not sales. BG3 cost full price on release, but managed 1m CCUs, and Starfield was free to play for 30m people accounting 75% of the CCUs, and could only manage th...
It really is mindblowing people think this is a perfect game. Very few games deserve a 10, and this certainly isn't one of them.
The same IGN Spain reviewer who gave Redfall a 10? https://es.ign.com/redfall/...

I love Star Ocean 1.
