The games are from different eras with different aims. Obviously a subjective comparison like this is going to arise.
This was a game I was really interested in and when I got my copy, I was utterly dissapointed.
It's repetative, loses the plot, the combat system just can't hold up against multiple enemies and becomes boring.
It does provide the odd jump, but nothing we've seen before. The shooting mechanics are still clumsy and the only thing it's really got going for it is it's sound.
9 is generious beyond belief.
