Aww come on...
The gaming media community is just pissed off that Gran Turismo doesnt need to pay for advertising banners all over their sites to sell.
Easily the best game of the year. It just sucks you in more and more as you play it.
Driving my fully spec'd 458 Italia around Nordschlief at sunset to Breaking Benjamin is the best thing ever.
Lol @ Quick Look.
That's what all the reviewers are doing :D
Wrong. The damage physical damage modelling is just different in standard cars.
Still looks pretty good most of the time.
This my friend is the BEST game design I have ever seen in a racer. People want to know where all the time went? HERE! My god this thing is deep. I have spent my whole sunday racing, drifting, taking photos and uploading to facebook. Now im doing the Tour of Italy in special events. The night race in the Mucialago took my breath away and is incredibly hard.
This game is a Racing RPG with a fantastic online mode.
For the sake of some graphics hitch...
From what I can tell damage scales depending on your Driver Level.
At level 8 or so I could get panels coming loose on premiums (see my profile avatar) as well as some cosmetic damage. I could also get deformation on standard cars. It took alot of roll overs and head on's, but it was possible.
Im assuming that as you progress the damage doesnt unlock, so much as the force registered by impacts increases to a realistic level.
Someone...
Standard cars can look quite good when damaged. I think the "Bad" screenshots people have taken where the damage looks quite unrealistic are of instances that are quite rare.
Id give both games equal scores. Forza 3 is a better "Game", GT5 is a better experience for car lovers.
3 long nights in and i still havent really started.
Is deep.
No game will ever live up to 5 years of hype.
That said, Im loving GT5. Yeah some of the graphics are crap, but who gives a f***.
Didnt stop me spending an hour getting those final .006 seconds off my time for the gold...
I semi-agree with you. Once you step up to cars with a top speed of 150KM/H you tend to be going too fast to see most of the graphics problems. Also the OCD-inducing addictiveness of the racing, how the game is structured, the license tests mean you simply dont CARE about most of it.
Unfortunately the ones you can see are terrible. I think it was the Suzuka circuit i was marveling at how good it looked until the final corner and you look straight at this terrible texture ...
Ive said it before and I'll say it again. GT5 has obviously hit some major problems.
My guess - They decided from the start to use the GT4 engine they already had and upgrade it.
From the looks of it that was a bad choice. There are obviously problems that the engine has with textures and near-track geometry.
Also I wonder if they are going to fix the screen tearing. It can get quite severe on the city courses.
...
I was just bashing up a standard model racing mod civic. They look way better than this. Even the damage isnt bad.
For the fanboys, GT5 = Forza 3
They just both excell in different areas.
Fillion as Drake - Will definately see at the Cinema, probably buy when it releases on bluray.
Marky Mark as Drake - I might download it when it hits isohunt...
Maybe.
Holy crap that game is deep. I've just ended a 6 hour stint and I haven't even scratched the surface. Cars handle PERFECT! Spent 2 hours with a mate trying to out do each other on license tests. NASCAR is freaking hard, kart racing is insanely fun. If you don't enjoy it you are dead inside! Rally, I've barely touched. The graphics to disappoint a fair bit, but the gameplay is just.... So... Perfect!!!
And to think after 6 hours with COD I was finished....
where is doing midnight launches? Im on the gold coast and no one is. Sucks.
Day one. Ive told the Mrs im hibernating for a few days.
Gotta pull my psp apart to fix my analogue stick. Keeps steering away from where i want it to and this is hindering my car collecting.
The sad bit is that his probably 28 and lives with his mum.
This is gonna be Ehhhhhhhhhhpic.
I have to be a fanboy to think that the last GOOD NFS game was released about 10 Years ago on PC and was called Underground 2?
Whatever Trevor.
And shift was Average at best. You dont have to be a fanboy to appreciate the higher resolution and clarity displayed by GT5:P when your travelling at 200+ MPH. Forza also excells in this department.
And yeah there is room for more than one racing game. Thats why I have Forza 3, GT5:P, GT:HD Co...
HOLY SHIT ON A STICK!!!!
I think the gaming media was too busy trying to pick holes in GT5 to notice anything else. Sega could have announced their return to the hardware market and no one would have heard...
