I only ever play one MMO at a time - it feels wrong to be playing multiple when I could be concentrating all my efforts.
If anything, a game going F2P just makes me want to play it more. I'm much more likely to try out a game on a whim one evening while bored if I don't have to bust out my credit card.
Nerd rage is delicious.
Now all we need is a game in Minute to Win It where the contestant has to jump over an automotive potato.
I don't get the comparisons, Bad Company and Modern Warfare are different games with different feels. I guess they're both about military stuff.
Ahhh I still need to finish the first.
Yeah I dunno what's up with that, GamerGrenade's been chugging lately. Someone needs to go wind up the turnkey on the server again or something.
Jumping is so Mario - this game is way too hardcore for that.
I'm still worrying and hating the Halo, so this will be a good read for me.
Maybe it got +0.8 because it's hard.
This is a very interesting article. It seems like stealth is supposed to make the player feel like a predator - empowered and superior. All too often though, stealth segments are just a frustrating hide-and-seek affair that make the player feel encumbered.
Just because a survey was posted doesn't substantiate a rumor. Additionally, there's absolutely no hard information to point to a PSP 4000 coming, yet the article says the rumor is true. This is sloppy reporting.
Wireless controllers has been my favorite innovation. Too many youngsters nowadays don't know the headaches of having cords draped across the floor all the time.
Sounds like the difference here is whether or not the glitch affects the intended game play or not. In the case of SSBM, the giant Jigglypuff doesn't hurt the play, whereas it does in the case of snaking in Mario Kart.
Lots of new genres start off as variations of existing ones until they develop fully enough to become their own.
First-person views in games were first seen in dungeon crawlers - Ultima and the like - until later games added guns and took out turn-based systems. Suddenly the FPS is born out of an RPG.
DotA and its ilk are the beginnings of a new genre, but that won't become apparent until someone really nails it.
Gotta disagree with the author about Ace Combat 4 and Halo. The stories in these games are horrible. Ace Combat 4 follows some woman that is entirely disconnected from the player and the actions concerning the player, while Halo is the ultimate juvenile male fantasy - you're Robocop fighting aliens on a space hula-hoop. The story is scatter shot, did they ever even explain the underwater tentacle monster that speaks in couplets?
But I do agree with the fact that forced story i...
No kidding, I had to open notepad and write it all out just to appreciate it.
Yeah, spelling out words on other systems would be very cumbersome (excepting the iPhone).
Actually, if you plug a keyboard up to a PS3/360/Wii, that'd be perfect.
There was a Suikoden game on the DS... I dunno, I love Suikoden as much as the next guy but I think the series would work these days.
