this is the uk, usa and japan, 2 of those markets, the ps3 games play second fiddle to the x360.
If you compare gfk europe to uk, maybe it might show the ps3 games fairing a lot better...but to be honest, Metal gear probbably didn't have as great legs as people said it had or the list includes a couple of mega releases and games that have huge legs. Stars wars and madden and pokemon, all had their release dates in Q3, All collosal names that were bound to have huge opening audiences. Ma...
the technical grafting in this game is pretty remarkable. Its not so much the skin level, its the things under the hood. Insomniacs game engine is pretty advanced.
There are people who just don't like the art style.
Its always next year....
just kidding, the games are here and they are making a difference. MGS was huge. people just don't want to drop so much money in the current climate. Chrismas is really going to be interesting.
I think sales will still be pretty huge. I can' remember when Sony last revealed those figures.
ah man...I was planning to save money by not getting this....
I really want know to what psn, is making, in terms of revenue. I don't see why pr departments don't show those figures, surely the growths would be huge even if the actually number of software sold is possibly not.
As reviews go, it was pretty good.
bubbles for you... completely missed that.
not gta? the no 1 selling title by quite a distance.
Yeah, they shouldn't have released it on election day. But I think this one will slow burn its way into next chrismas. R1 is still selling, ain't it. and that game was two years ago.
Edit: And gears of war is out couple of days later.
Was Fifa no 1 last year? I actually think its going to prince of persia over a wii title. I know what's going to be no.1 in japan on chrismas day. Although I hope not many people wait in lines for it on chrismas day.
Man, i'm in the uk... anyhow how does it feel with only two weapons? I don't know why that has been one of the complaints, cause thats how every other shooter out there operates and operated except maybe resistance 1. And the other complaint, the one about a lack of a narrator? Cause I loved that about the first one as well. i hope she returns for three.
I personally thought this was one of the reasons why it stayed on the ps3. Its just a test bed I think for MMOs for ps3. I read somewhere that free asian MMOs only need around 5% of people to keep buying stuff to earn a profit, so having a million subscribers is pretty darn good. @Fox01: I really didn't get why people who've played mgs before got pissed about the long cutscenes. Its always been part of the package and i think one of the reasons why it is so epic. Definitely game of the year s...
The whole point of metacritic is to appoint an average, how do you work out an average if no number is given. In my opinion they shouldn't really be using such publications anyhow because then it is they who decide the difference between say, 89.5 and 90. I know its sill, but these days publishers seem to take them seriously enough.
i think he's comparing exclusives. but its still silly.
FYI: wipeout was 95 and Gran turismo was...around that time. The article does say that Halo and Gears are -sales wise- much the biggest things in gaming and Forza and fable 2 are pretty much up there in their genres. But yes, the list does dwindle, unfavourably, In my opinion.
Edit: Man I forgot about rare.
Because that does sound extreme...
The earliest for me seems to be the japan store, I typically check it around 8am. The uk playstation store changes from week to week. Most weeks, it'll around be around midday 12-1pm pm, but its been 6pm more than a few times. And than some weeks its up as early as 9/10am.
I'd really think it'd be really professional service, if they could have when it live by the time, I wake up in the morning 7am.
All times here are GMT.
I loved it. Games are meant to be fun and those were snapshots of real people having fun.
wtf with motorstorm pacific rift? I didn't even know it was out. no.29 according to them.
