i kinda agree in main sense just having a huge world isnt all that impressive and 99% boring and just ends up leading to alot of padded game time that is just travelling around.
having a more condensed lively world with more to do makes it feel more alive.

hmm Shenmue 3 i wouldnt say was a disapointment at all. its whole premise was to finish a story fans had been waiting for and so people not already fans would feel out of touch with the game as your essentially entering the game at its last stretch.
Day's Gone was just kinda meh, funish game at times but overall just one of those games that you play around the big games to fill in time waiting for the next big game.
i kinda disagree on the whole it has to be done if they want to stand any chance. no it has to be done when they dont want to invest time into making their store actually better.
they are doing this because its just easier to force exclusives onto their platform/store then spending a bit of time to make a store that not only gives dev's more money but also has more features then steam. there is plenty of features they could look into that would put them ahead of steam and make EG...
@livingthedream how in any way does it look bad? you have interesting characters, very interesting world and we have seen combat which looks very MGS5 which had very good combat.
only issue is KoToR 2 was never wrapped up even to this day its missing huge chunks and many of the dev's have stated they cut huge portions of the ending because they ran out of time. it was a great game but to me never trully wrapped up and really is a lot like Phantom Pain a great game ruined by outside sources forcing them to finish early leading to the final chapters of the game a bit of a mess because they dont have all the content.
"that formula not working in this day" erm you do realise the Yakuza games are literally Shenmue successors and are doing extremely well in this day.
i think we was all expecting a liter version made to be portable only was coming. kinda also plays into the idea's they are also looking into a potential higher spec version that is TV only as well.
this will sell amazingly well i know a lot of people that didnt want to buy a switch as they only wanted a portable game device so didnt want to pay the extra they felt they was being forced to pay just for the added ability to play on their TV as well.

your concern over dev's is dumbfounded when many dev's have been pretty outspoken about the xbox game pass as being the best thing for them in a long time because guess what they get guarenteed money which they may not get from sales. they also get sales and a huge chunk from game pass which means 2 revenue sources which guess what is 2x better then having only 1 revenue source even if they compete with each other.
how has this looked good in any way. force unleashed 1 a game over 10 years ago looked better in its demo's
this is a simple reskin of the basic shadow of mordor combat without any of the cool shadow of mordor mechanics.
no originality at all in this game its at best a £5 sale game when your absolutely bored.
notice their huge avoidance to mention at all what the input lag will be. end of day input lag will determine this has any hope as who cares if its massively compressed 4k images(which i suggest people look up and you will find massively compressed 4k will look even worse then a uncompressed 1080p due to how much artifacting there will be.)
there has already been reports when they first showed stadia off that the people using it in a closed LAN setting which is 1gb connection speeds...
seems like it would be something like dark souls? just without the invading or summoning so can leave some kind of messages and maybe you can see ghosts of others in certain situations(like they die etc) could work great if its really worked into the lore correctly
wait who say's it hasnt been as successful as they wanted when every time they talk of it they state its been a bigger success sales wise then they thought it would be.

@solideagle i think its because one its a 60fps version and the TLOU was right at end of PS3 so alot of people most likely had already cashed in on the console in preperation for PS4.
only thing that should be salvaged is the flying and who ever designed the mech suits.
rest of the game is not worth it.
